A recent report from Shams Charania of The Athletic revealed some extremely interesting information about the possible Pascal Siakam trade to the Atlanta Hawks as we learned of the D’Andre Hunter, AJ Griffin and raft compensation offer that was presented to the Toronto Raptors but was ultimately rejected. It was the first time that we really got inside information regarding the Spicy P trade talks but it still did not really indicate the possibility of Siakam not only staying with the Raptors but staying long-term.
That all changed on the morning of August 14th as a lesser-known NBA source on Twitter revealed some shocking information about the saga. If you have been following the events, the assumption is that Siakam is going to try his hand at making an All-NBA appearance this season which would render him super max eligible and therefore would make the star forward a free agent in 2024 but this could be about to change..

Do you think Siakam deserves the max extension?
Can’t understand why Toronto can’t afford good marquee players when so many other nba teams are stacked with big names… what are we doing differently? Our team has a bunch of scrubs in the nba roster scheme and yet… 😂 just don’t get it
4 years and $192mil is a lot better than 5 years and $304mil. If he'll sign that four year extension, the Raptors should offer it now.

I have a feeling that there is gonna be at least one no trade clause between the three new contracts with GTJ, O.G. and Pascal. I'm leaning on Siakam. O.G. is probably the only flight risk as Gary and Pascal have shown intetrest in staying in Toronto.
We still have a couple of months before the start of the season. Gonna be interesting what the starting lineup is gonna look likle when it's all said and done.

He will be good enough every year. He gets better before he got let hurt last year. Those first 20 games he was top-five in the NBA. Everybody seems to forget that the guy keeps getting better.

Siakam is a solid #2 or #3 option on a contending team. I have no problem with resigning him to a max contract extension, especially with his trade value in the pits right now. Question is….can they land a legit #1 option and become relevant again, or will they continue with Siakam as their #1 and be irrelevant?

I’m so sick of Siakiam. Dude is overrated and at best is a 2nd option. Masai better trade him before training camp. Siakiam will pull what Vanvleet did and stat pad to get all nba nod to try to get a super max. Darko will not stand for that as he made it pretty clear he’s building the offence around Barnes. This situation can get ugly. If the Atlanta deal can’t work out Trade him to Charlotte for Hayward, Center Mark Williams and two future first round picks.
Masai better not extend him. I don’t believe Siakiam excepts a extension as he will go for super max.
I doubt he signs this extension. He just watched what fred got betting on himself. I think he’s going to take the same risk.
