This is interesting. The guys on CBS Sports had a more visceral response to the fact this 33-year old former MVP with constant playoff failure who wanted a max contract and manipulated his way out of 2 other teams previously was calling someone else a liar…that's interesting. This sounds like locked on Harden more than locked on 76ers. The guy underperformed and your GM said idgaf what I promised, that was contingent upon you playing like an All-NBA co-star to our MVP…and he didn't do that. I just think it's weird CBS had me thinking they were Philly fans and this talk sounds like Harden's P.R. team ironing out the details of his revolt.
Even if Harden was being accurate with what he said, he should never say it out loud. His reputation was already in the tank and hard to ever sympathize with, but this should deter even the most desperate teams from making a call.

Daryl has always been a snake. Harden's 1st mistake was dealing with him without an agent all these years. Your what 33 now and left what 200 mil on the table in Brooklyn, thats another mistake. And then he ops in with the 76ers?? How could Harden not know by now this is a business, like Keith said get a good agent, get it in writing. Daryl loves playing these games, and he's playing one now. I guess he could eventually get his money back in Puerto Rican League or China.

hey fellas, just want to let you know when Harden took less money last year, he got this 2nd year in return that's for $35-36 million. When Harden gave up the money – that was heading into the final year of the contract (2022-23)…. Then he was given a 2nd year at $35-36 million…..he didnt lose $15 million, Harden gained an extra $20 million by having this next season added.

I'm not saying this to cover for Daryl Morey because he's skirted the line between being a General Manager and an agent for James Harden since he became a GM.
But $15M doesn't come from nowhere, and the market doesn't agree that James Harden is a max player. The only team remotely interested in him was the Clippers, and they're not willing to give up much of anything to get him.
James Harden bet on himself, and he came up short. Is he going to be allowed to get another guy fired (like he did Steve Nash), just so he can force himself out anyways?
