Was surprised this hadn’t been posted here yet—KAT did an interview with Windy that came out this morning. Items of note:
– He’s playing in the World Cup to honor his mother’s Dominican heritage, though he also feels the World Cup is “the perfect time to work on some things in my game”. – He’s now feeling 100% and like himself again, but he says he wasn’t fully healed when he came back last season—he wishes the team could’ve faced Denver at full strength. – The Wolves organization was very supportive of his decision to play in the World Cup, and the team is committed to improving next season. – “For all of us, [the World Cup] will be a head start.” Love to see this perspective with so many Wolves participating. It’s not exactly the same as the NBA, but it’s still a prime opportunity to get some competitive hooping in before training camp begins.
