Rylan Stiles dives into the Oklahoma City Thunder, seeing their players Josh Giddey, Lu Dort, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander take leaps during the exhibition slate of the FIBA World Cup. Josh Giddey can take a massive offensive leap for the OKC Thunder this season after what he showed for Team Australia. Can SGA and Josh Giddey work as a backcourt pairing? What has SGA looked to develop this Summer? Is Mark Daigneault a top-five coach in the NBA? How good can the Thunder be on the defensive end of the floor this season? What is the ceiling of Josh Giddey?

  1. One of the most fortunate aspects of Josh Giddey's burgeoning NBA career is that he was drafted by OKC to begin with. OKC, a developing team – at one recent point with a lower average age than one of the American college teams – was a perfect fit. There he got the minutes that he wouldn't have received at the Bucks, or Lakers or Heat. It has enabled his development, made him the 4-times youngest triple double scorer in NBA history and been part of a change in how NBA players are drafted. The college system is still a major feeder comp, but more and more (very) young players are coming in from international leagues & by-passing the college system. Exciting times ahead!

  2. E.Spoelstra is not only the best Coach in the game but probably the greatest Coach ever. Or atleast the greatest Coach Ive seen (since the 76'ers last Championship). S.Kerr is 2nd best current coach. I hate Pop so I cant properly rank him. Mark is probably a Top 5 Coach.

  3. For his size Josh has a very low handle as he drives. He and Chet have such similar edgy competitiveness.

  4. Just another enjoyable thought for the future. First, the real possibility to get Clingan this year. Then in 2025 OKC has the Sixers pick, 6 protected. I can foresee the Sixers problems spilling over into a total breakdown of their roster. If Harden leaves, Joel might want out and by then the Sixers could be a lottery team (as could the Clippers) and that year and 2026 is going to have some incredible talent—Flagg, Boozer and AJ Dybantsa. One never knows.

  5. The Thunder have such a great team, and I understand that they all benefit tremendously when they're "clicking" as a team. I personally, would like to see Shai score 60-80 on maybe 60-70% shooting? In 1 of the 82 post season matches. Hopefully against LAL or LAC
