Well I mean obviously, he’s got quite the track record of forcing his way out of teams, ain’t his first rodeo. Bros single handedly going to dismantle this entire Sixers organization to spite Morey lol

  2. IEatDeFish

That baby bump was just a warning shot

I’m fully in support of the Sixers doing whatever the worst thing possible is for Harden, fuck his loser ass

  5. I want to see what he’s got. Let him sit out for free and then see what kind of deals he’s looking at next off-season. Trading him for trash doesn’t change anything for us and that’s all that will be offered the way he is handling this.

  6. of_mice_and_meh

Honestly, what is he going to do? He’s most likely just not going to show up. If he does show up, he’s not the type of person to cause a disruption. It’s just not in his personality. If this was Butler or Beverly or Draymond, I’d be more concerned.

  7. Popps2315

Disappointing how he’s handling this. Just not a competitor in any sense of the word.

  8. Johnga20

Adam Silver is the players’s bitch. they can do whatever they want. Contract doesn’t matter anymore.

  9. Baz_Daddy

He can’t do anything more to us than we’ve already done to ourselves

  10. max_d_tho

I honestly don’t even care about this season anymore, I’m just excited to see what James does. I can’t wait to see the fatsuit in action

  11. TheBlappies

Congrats to the NBA on making every player an enormous baby that must be coddled or they throw a tantrum. Pathetic league

  12. rahbee33

They’re talking like he’s going to sacrifice Maxey or something.

He’s not likely to shoot himself in the foot by coming in fat again in a contract year, but he could. It might make him less attractive to another team willing to trade for him outside of LAC which seems counterintuitive for him getting out of Philly. This would also be the opposite of what his trainer said the other day about being in MVP level shape/

If he loafs and doesn’t give effort in home games the crowd is going to DESTROY him. He got so much shit for the Nets/Kings game and he might’ve been hurt. If he sandbags games it’s going to be a terrible look for him, not us.

Could he stage a mutiny? It’s happened before (Rip Hamilton did it to Jon Kuester in Detroit), but I don’t know that he could get the team to go with him on that. That seems pretty far fetched.

I am not scared of what Harden could do going into camp. Show up and play or fuck off.

  13. TheArsenal7

At this point I’m starting to be concerned he’s going to show up to training camp with a bomb strapped to his chest

  14. sweet_hell

I’d listen to a winner. He ain’t that guy.

    Fuck Harden.

  15. TnT54321

Can’t wait til we trade him and PJ for Kyle Lowry and Duncan Robinson

  16. Slow-Duty-8030

Guy shouldn’t of opted in… you signed a contract to stay.

  17. ThereAreDozensOfUs

Trust me. That game 7 performance left me plenty uncomfortable

  18. Winter-Relief-9496

As a nets fan welcome to hell

  19. WraithTwelve

He literally opted in how is the league allowing this shit

  20. mrHartnabrig

The guy has no leverage. He’s not acting from a position of power.

This report screams more tea than actual factual. Nick Nurse nor Morey are going to deal with Harden’s anticipated unprofessionalism. So it is what it is.

  21. Otternomaly

Of course it’s the Philadelphia 76ers who get the esteemed privilege of suffering the nuclear fallout of the broken bromance between these two egomaniacs.

One day the tides will change for this team, hopefully that day comes before my brain is riddled with dementia.

  22. FearlessNobility

Reeks of desperation. I’m going to make a couple of assumptions.

Morey and Harden agree that he will move on at the end of the season. This seemed to have been in place by Christmas, given the rumors to Houston. Sign and trade makes the most sense. Morey agrees they will make a long term deal, so Harden can maximize contract value. Which btw, is what Harden has done his whole career up to this point: play the market and other teams off each other.

Since then, Harden’s play isn’t great and he is one of many sixers to have horrible games against the Celtics. Houston sees this, decides the value for Harden isn’t there. They choose FVV and Harden’s dream destination is gone.

Now he knows that the market isn’t there for him. Opts in and thinks Morey will take a risk and give him a huge contract and find a suitor. Morey realizes there is no market and can’t give a deal that no one will take. Makes sense considering it is probably close to FVV’s 3yr/$128m deal.

Morey offers a 1+1 deal since it is the only amount a potential suitor (in all likelihood the Clippers) are willing to take on. Everyone in the league sees Harden as super risky and Morey isn’t willing to take on a salary dump just because of his personal affinity.

So basically we have some people who are taking Harden’s side and think we should take on a 3 year fully guaranteed $128m contract that we would struggle to move. What contender would take that on and be willing to send something back? We would be accepting a salary dump. Thankfully, it seems like these people are in the minority though and most recognize how absurd Harden is being.

  23. Ram5673

I gotta say I’m glad I was never on this dudes side. He’s been a cancer everywhere he’s been and I knew from day 1 he’d do this, it was just a matter off when.

  24. Own_Competition_46

What’s a legitimately good excuse for not sacrificing Morey if Harden says he will stay and play if Morey goes? Because if Harden goes for an underwhelming package then Embiid & this teams chances go for slim to none

  25. BradyReas

Great way to convince teams to give you a max

  26. eagles1990

Harden’s about to show up to camp quoting Infowars Kanye verbatim

  27. IndigoJacob

Harden has more value than Ben did 2 years ago. Morey is right to hold out again.

  28. foleshurtswentz

Does anyone even care at this point? The team isn’t going to compete regardless.

  29. Groovicity

If he treats this situation like an easy lay-up, we should be in the clear

  30. Big-Understanding276

What can he do? Not show up? Show up with a phone in his pocket? Show up with a fat suit? Seriously what else can he do?

  31. Lock him out of the practice facility. Make it so his key card doesn’t work when he shows up for TC in his fat suit. Then tell him to go sit on his ass and watch what remaining value he has as a free agent next off-season shrivel up.

    Fuck this guy.

  32. springwaterh20

I hope they trade embiid so he can go win elsewhere, and keep harden to make his life as miserable as possible.

  33. bravof1ve

Glad Morey wasted an entire season holding out for this guy

  34. Gang_Greene

After Ben Simmons, I don’t even care anymore. Sit out. Make it “uncomfortable.” This player empowerment bullshit has gone too far. Y’all play basketball. This isn’t hockey or football. The fact the players have this much power in this sport is ridiculous. There’s minimal injury risk in this sport and you guys make way more money than you deserve for what you do. Boohoo, you took a pay cut and disappeared when we needed you most. You’re on the wrong side of 30. You’re not a max player anymore and the lack of trade market speaks volumes for what the league thinks your value is.

  35. edwardsscreenname

I know everyone jokes about players who suck going to China, but couldn’t Harden get paid an ass-load to play in China? I know there’s no history of massive payments, but he’s also still a quasi-star and could score 50 a night while getting fatter and fatter. Think about it, James.
