Lets lock him down, he’s gonna be big next year.

I am thinking slightly more than Grant Williams money to be honest, 4 years with a PO because he is younger with more potential. Both of them have had similar level of impact for their teams over the years.

Ballpark 4/60 would be awesome and still give the team some flexibility in the coming years with how the cap is changing

Great move to ink this before the deadline. Green is definitely getting better offers at FA and he is too important on our roster right now to be traded as an expiring.

Get young talent now and lock them in.

God I’d love them to sign him for 10-13m but after the Josh hart signing those expectations are kind of gone.

We lucky if it is 3 year 51m at this point.

That means he won’t be traded this year. Most fans on here in shambles.

This is good. I haven’t been the biggest believer in Josh but he is a young two way wing with great upside. You gotta lock that in

I think if you want him to sign before he plays this season you go 4/60. It might feel like an overpay right now but if he continues on his trajectory it will be about right. Yes, its more than G. Will, but in the market he will get the same type of money or more in the free agent market.

If dallas plays this contract as a comparison to G Will money they might lose him. He’s probably worth a little less or on par with G Will but with the cap going up you dont want to test what a player like him might get offered.

I believe he is setup to be a RFA so at the end of the day dallas will have the last call in matching or not.

I bet he doesn’t get minutes if he doesn’t sign an extension, hence why there’s a deadline. From the Mavs perspective, why develop them if they’re going to leave? They learned from DFS and Brunson that they can get really expensive if they excel and play out their contract year. I think it was the same with Wood where if he signed an extension, the team would have tried to develop him. When he didn’t, the team gave up on him quickly.

Let’s deny him the contract, wait until the Playoffs, he’ll become a star in the first round and be great in the second one. Then once we’re out, he’ll leave for a different and we’ll be left with nothing. The Brunson special.

I’m not saying lowball him but to me he’s got the same sort of potential in the open market as Austin Reaves. Reaves was a RFA and the lakers said they’d match up to $100 million yet he got about half of that because he was restricted. Love JG but not paying him a penny more than Reaves that’s the market rn
