>”We apologize. You know, we love China. We love playing there,” Harden said. “For both of us individually, we go there once or twice a year. They show us the most important love.”

>”We appreciate them as a fan base,” Harden said. “We love everything there about them, and we appreciate the support that they give us individually and as [an] organization.”

The NBA apologizing for standing for democracy is still just so crazy..greed is a hell of a thing

Look out Emperor LeMao….here come the Harden dynasty

NBA lost any remaining credibility after the way they handled it.

Honestly, this was a pretty sad moment for the organization. Amazing that Morey – of all people – had the moral high ground here.

And I say all of this as a huge Harden apologist.

  7. I am sure that not alot of nephews here doesnt understand what was going on in China. Some of the houston/lakers player were at China to play exhibition games and after Morey’s comment some of them even said how the atmosphere was really harsh and police was everywhere around their hotel.

I know it was obviously standing up for democracy but those apologies were also for protecting those players who got stuck in China

Harden didn’t get the WE ARE OFFICIALLY NOT OFFICIALLY AT WAR WITH CHINA memo then, and he apparently still does not have it now.

Harden bending and gaping for whatever dollar fits. No different than most athletes unfortunately. Still a twat move. Just like folks going to Saudi Arabia for last minute paydays before retirement.

    Not a lot of backbone.

“We love all the money we get from you, please keep buying my jersey”

It’s so gross. The nba basically coerced Morey into a 1960s Cultural Revolution style struggle session. He had to repent and admit that he had strayed from the truth as defined by Adam Silvers little red book.

Honestly how many players benefit off the Chinese that are considered a star or all star level in this league?

He’s going to China for a gazillion and royalty treatment. He’s become a cancer in the NBA.

Well, I mean, Hitler making a deal with Stalin. What else do you expect?

I love how in this instance Morey got to stir shit, quickly wipe his hands clean (delete the tweet) and make everyone else answer for what he started and gets hailed as a hero around these parts for it.

Harden did what Morey did. Which is whatever the Rockets told buddy to say.

  16. Reminder that this subreddit hates black people and have used china as a way to dismiss all social issues for years now.

honestly as someone actually from hong kong this is pretty damning.

  18. Ehh, I’m not any better. If I was a pickle ball player and China was my main source of sponsorship income, I’d tell the media I love China as well.

Fuck trying to throw players under the bus for this, how about finding Morey’s quotes after he made that tweet??

It’s ridiculous how he never had to answer for what he started and no one blames him, all they do is blame players for not instantly going to war against a country and government they don’t know shit about, and that they didn’t throw away their bag to fight injustices that they probably heard about for the first time that week.
