>WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Wizards announced their 2023-24 regular season schedule today, with the season opener set for Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Indiana and the home opener taking place on Saturday, Oct. 28, vs. Memphis. The 2023-24 Wizards season will be presented by Capital One.
>All regular season Wizards games will be televised on NBC Sports Washington, soon to be Monumental Sports Network (with the exception of exclusive nationally-broadcast games). All games can be heard via radio on the official Wizards app, The Team 980 and WFED 1500 and outside of the DMV area on the Wizards Radio Network.
>The Wizards will play 21 of their 40 regular season home games on the weekend, with nine games on Friday and six games each falling on Saturday and Sunday. Fans will be able to spend the holidays watching the team at Capital One Arena with four consecutive home games against Orlando (Dec. 26), Toronto (Dec. 27), Brooklyn (Dec. 29) and a matinee against Atlanta on New Year’s Eve. Other home holiday games include a Martin Luther King Jr. Day matinee tilt against Detroit (Jan. 15), a St. Patrick’s Day contest vs. Boston (Mar. 17) and an Easter Sunday matchup with Miami (Mar. 31).
>As part of the new NBA In-Season Tournament, Washington will play four consecutive Fridays in November against its Group B opponents, beginning with a trip to Miami on Friday, Nov. 3. The Wizards will then take on Charlotte (Nov. 10) and New York (Nov. 17) at home before closing group play with a road matchup in Milwaukee (Nov. 24).
>The Wizards play 19 games prior to the In-Season Tournament knockout round, with 17 of those contests coming against Eastern Conference opponents (including eight Southeast Division matchups). All NBA In-Season Tournament group play games, quarterfinal and semifinal games will count towards regular season records, with the championship being a standalone event. Teams that do not qualify for the knockout round will play two regular season games on Dec. 6 and 8, with opponents to be determined.
>The Wizards will close the season by playing 11 of their final 15 games at Capital One Arena, with visits from Boston (Mar. 17), Houston (Mar. 19), Sacramento (Mar. 21), Toronto (Mar. 23), Brooklyn (Mar. 27), Detroit (Mar. 29), Miami (Mar. 31), Milwaukee (Apr. 2), the Los Angeles Lakers (Apr. 3), Portland (Apr. 5) and Chicago (Apr. 12 for the home finale). The six-game, 10-day homestand from Mar. 27-Apr. 5 is the team’s longest of the season.
>All non-Sunday home games will tip off at 7:00 p.m. at Capital One Arena other than the Martin Luther King Jr. Day game (3:00 p.m.) and the Mar. 23 game vs. Toronto (8:00 p.m.). Washington’s Sunday slate includes a 3:00 p.m. tip on New Year’s Eve against Atlanta, a 6:00 p.m. start against defending-champion Denver (Jan. 21), a 3:30 p.m. start against Phoenix (Feb. 4) and three 6:00 p.m. starts against Cleveland (Feb. 25), Boston (Mar. 17) and Miami (Mar. 31, Easter Sunday).
>The Wizards will embark on West Coast swings in December and at the end of February/beginning of March and have four-game trips in November and March, respectively. The team will close the season with a trip to Boston for a 1:00 p.m. tipoff on Sunday, Apr. 14.

Being as generous as possible: Wins:
1. Hornets in Charlotte Nov 8 1. Hornets at home (in-season tourney) Nov 10 1. Pistons away Nov 27 1. Magic at home Dec 26 1. Hawks away Jan 13 1. Pistons home Jan 15 1. Spurs at home Jan 20 (spurs rest Vic) 1. Pistons away Jan 27 1. Mavs away Feb 12 (mavs resting Luka and/or Kyrie pre all-star break) 1. Magic at home Mar 6 1. Hornets at home March 8 1. Rockets at home March 19 1. Lakers at home April 3 (Lakers rest Lebron leading up to postseason) 1. Blazers at home April 5
Record: 14-68. And that’s assuming they keep Kuz and Poole the whole year. If they trade those guys at the all star break for draft capital, that’s 5 less wins.

2 little mini-series’ against Cle and CHA… I love addition of the in season mini series. A good way to bring a little bit more competitive nature to guys during the dog days of the season.
