Nikola Jokic just completed one of the best seasons in NBA history by a center. Winning his first NBA title. He’s the favorite to win MVP this upcoming season. And I agree. I truly believe he’s in for an all time great season. Which is what I will be talking about in this video.
We have seen a history of players who win that first title and have all time great seasons to follow it up. Michael Jordan lead the Bulls to 67 wins (which was 4th all time at the time) after he won his first title. LeBron James had in my opinion the best individual season in NBA history a year after he won his first title. Stephen Curry had the best offensive season by a guard in NBA history, leading the Warriors to an NBA record 73 wins, and was the first unanimous MVP in NBA history a year after he won his first title. And Giannis had his best scoring season at the time, and likely would’ve been the MVP had he played a full season (I actually believe he should’ve won it) the year after he won his first title. It’s just a confidence that all time greats play with following that first title that leads to them taking it to the next level in the following seasons. And I think Jokic is next in line for that to happen.
On top of the offensive production being at an all time record as a standard for Jokic, and the fact I think the Nuggets are easily the best team in the NBA. I think all the stars are aligning for Jokic to have one of the best seasons basketball has ever seen.

Yes, we're watching one of the best basketball players we've EVER seen right now. 💯
Jokic has gotten better every single year so far, even though everyone who's watched all his games year to year thinks "I don't see how he improves on his MVP season!" And then he just does. But, it's hard to see him scoring 27ppg this season, because the Nuggets are good enough that he doesn't need to. And he doesn't care about stats or awards. He cares about winning games through great team basketball and winning the championship. Period. That means he probably won't score at the clip of 27ppg unless the Nuggets need him to due to injuries. Hopefully that won't happen. He could definitely score 30 ppg if he wanted to, but why spend the energy on the regular season when the goal is to get to the playoffs rested and then win another title.
