Russell Westbrook was sooo bad on the Lakers that it isn’t even funny. Well it was for me anyway. The Westbrook trade was one on the dumbest trades in NBA history in my opinion. Was completely unnecessary and unnatural. Lebron was off his rocker when he told the front office to support this over Buddy Hield and Demar Derozen. The Lakers were an habitual sub 500. team with Westbrook and not much better without him until a miracle trade was pulled off at the trade deadline of 2023.

Majority of this commentary applies to LeBrick as well and they refuse to bench him but not many will admit it.
He made me skip an entire season of watching LA, not even lyin. Just the contract alone and how restricted we were because of it, and to see that money play selfishball was something else. Just abysmal move, abysmal player just awful.

Russell was put in a difficult position. He never meshed on paper with a team that has another ball dominant player. It was weird when first announced. But, it was fun to watch that season.

As a Lakers fan, that 2022 team should go down as the worst Lakers team of all time. There were worse teams record wise, but this team had expectations built around em. Im still mind boggled that even with injuries this team couldn’t even be in the damn play-in? I blame a multitude of things that aren’t just Russell Westbrook. The FO was super incompetent, Frank Vogel went out sad and even with all the veterans in the world, this team NEVER TRIED! Fr, when we were down by 20, they give up. Even when we were up by 20, they still give up. The aftermath looked grim. With no draft picks, LeBron gettin old and AD regressing, I thought we’re not makin the playoffs for another five years. So it was a shock to me that this season, we turned it around and even made the WCF.
