Killian Hayes entered the NBA with a ton of hype. He was the 7th overall pick in 2020 by the Pistons. And many thought he was a top 3 prospect in that class. Some even believing he was the best prospect in that class over guys like Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball. However he hasn’t lived up to his billing in the NBA so far. And with guards drafted after him like Haliburton, and Maxey being significantly better than Hayes. It’s led a lot of people to question the Pistons taking him top 7.
But it’s not as simple as “he’s not good”. There’s a reason the Pistons took him so high, and why many viewed him highly as a prospect. And there’s also a reason why he hasn’t worked out in the NBA so far. Which is what I want to talk about in this video.

With Pistons Guard position are already stack. Its best for pistons to moved on from him.
I cant wait to watch Marcus sasser in action this upcoming season. He's been a dog since his sophomore year at Houston
You can tell when a team doesn't really want a player but drafted off best available cuz their guy got taken, when they realized Hayes was a project his rookie year, they immediately drafted Cunningham in front of him, then Ivey the next year, now Marcus Sasser.. now the Pistons have the guards they want and Hayes is the odd man out, I'll say Wizards, Clippers, Raptors, Rockets, Blazers and Nuggets will take a chance on him. Hopefully this is his breakout season statistically.
