Pascal Siakam is now in the final year of his contract and the front office has some big decisions to make. If Pascal makes an all-NBA team this year, he will be eligible for a super-max contract and would leave the Raptors with significantly less money. Another option is to offer him a contract extension now which will give the team more flexibility if they want to move him later. This is going to prove difficult because the Raptors fan base is breathing down the front office’s necks after they let Fred VanVleet go for nothing to the Houston Rockets.

The title should be “Raptors fans are overrating Scottie Barnes and underrating Pascal Siakam”. He should get the shine because he’s a great player
If we don't trade Pascal we are going to be mid pack again. I like the guy but he is not worth a supermax. Need to re tool.

Love Pascal but he definitely needs to go if the Raptors are tired of being Mid. Raptors team has no direction and as good as Pascal is, he is not a player that will lead you to a championship. The Raptors will gut themselves if they pay him the super max. This has everything to do with the business side of things if it’s believed Pascal cannot bring them over that bump.
When your highest paid player needs a 3rd player year to become an all-star. Better move that highest paid player.
I don’t think the Atlanta deal is bad, it’s just not really compelling. I’d be more interested in an ORL deal for Franz, Gary Harris, and Isaac + a 1st rounder… the latter two have contracts not fully guaranteed.

Atlanta doesn't have their own picks because of the Murray trade. You're not trading Siakam to the Hawks for a 2029 pick.
