Bill Simmons thinks Lillard should consider forming a Big 3 in Minnesota: “You wonder if Dame is watching [Minnesota] going ‘You know what? Me for Towns. Just switch us. We have Gobert. We have Edwards. Me and Ant together. Maybe that’s a better situation for me than anywhere else.”

Bout time my suggestions from post-draft made it national.

    Keep heatin Lillard’s ears up.

  2. mitchtoe

What can Dame do that Mike Conley can’t do already?

Edit: Stop downvoting me this is clearly a joke lmao

  3. FlyingScissor

Bill writing fanfiction cause he knows Miami is waxing his Celtics again with Dame.

  4. popfgezy

Idk… Our window would be like 2-3 years? And if gobert/Lillard get washed then we’re kinda fucked.

  5. SoupyWolfy

I love KAT whole heartedly but sign me up.

  6. WilmerMendez

Low key I think we should just let this core develop before we trade away good assets

  7. VikingsandWolves

No thanks, we dont need a score first no defense guard next to ANT taking away shots from him and chucking it up 20 times a game.

Plus Dame has alot of mileage on those legs and small pgs do not age well. In a year or two when he loses that bounce hes basically a shorter version of Harden without the passing ability. There is a reason why he never won.

Conley is just fine. 33 year old, 6’2″ Dame for 27 year old, 6’11” Towns? … No thankyou.

  9. hey u/UnbiasedNBAFan_, I just wanna break down your thought process in that last paragraph:

Our squad last year didn’t have KAT for 53 games, and it finished with a top 8 seed. Then, we lost Naz Reid and Jaden McDaniels—two extremely key players—a week before the play-in. Despite losing them, and a historically bad game from Ant, we nearly beat the Lakers in the play-in, before ending up getting bounced by the Nuggets (which some have claimed was their most competitive series of last year).

With that in mind, you’re saying that if we (1) swap KAT for Dame (which you think would improve our team immensely), (2) assume everyone stays healthy, and (3) see Anthony Edwards take another leap (which has already happened if the USA results are any indication)……. our best hope would be to finish just two seeds higher, then somehow still lose to fuckin Austin Reaves, geriatric LeBron, and a handful of our own cast-offs. Or to the PG and Kawhi Clippers that have played 20 games together in 5 years.

Do you genuinely believe you’re “unbiased”, or is the name a joke? Because from where I’m standing, it looks like you need to seriously reassess how you rate small vs. big market teams.

I don’t want Ant having to give the ball up for Dame. More so I don’t want Dame’s defense in our back court.

Wouldn’t the cap issues still exist in this scenario. We are all worried about not having camp with Towns, Gobert, Ant and Jaden, but Lillards contract is similar to Towns so wouldn’t we still need to deal with that cap issue?

  12. yourloudneighbor

    Devils advocate-dame is 33, kat is 27

Kat is a big that can body Jokic. Containing Jokic is the new narrative. Wolves are built to stop Denver and that’s all that matters

Dame does none of this except we get older and smaller .

    Change my mind

  13. KAT is a foul out machine. I’d love to trade him for Dame.

  14. darin617

As much as I would like to trade Kat I don’t want to bring in Dame.

This is Ant’s team and do you really think Dame would want to be the second option?

  15. raki016

    Timeline is the worst argument.

You build the best roster you can, everytime. Especially for a franchise that historically has been losing.

Championships are, for the most part, built through incremental improvements. Dame is an incremental improvement that gets us from middle of the pack to top 3 in the West.

If that trade is available, no brainer we should take it.

  16. themoertel

Our hypothetical starting lineup with a KAT-Dame swap is Lillard, Ant, Jaden, Naz, Rudy. That sounds tasty.

  17. Difficult_Arm_4762

meh…who else can we get rid of for him instead? if he wants he can wear a “Heat” jersey while on the team if it helps him….

  18. shanej127

The timberwolves should do this trade if it is available to them. I doubt it is available to them.

  19. Tillie_to_the_wolves

I’m not listening to anything Bill Simmons has to say with Wolves. He hates the franchise after they went with Kahn over him for the GM job. If he says something that this would be good for the Wolves I think the opposite of his opinion.

  20. tmapfbc

God damn I can’t wait for the season to start. It’s crazy how people have just forgotten how good KAT is. He’s literally about to turn 28, about to enter his prime. It’s fucking insane that so many people think that we should trade him. Especially for a small guard who has 1-2 more prime years max. KAT is literally more than 5 years younger than Dame.

I wish more people would accept that they have no idea what they’re talking about and just shut the fuck up. Or at the very least, be more honest about their biases.
