I’ve only followed the NBA since start of the 2018-2019 season, but I do very much enjoy seeing Boston get ever so close, yet fail at achieving ultimate success. I’m a Toronto fan, followed closely by Denver, but definitely have no issues with any other team except maybe New York. I think Tatum and Brown have played with Smart for so long it’ll take a while to play with another Al Horford style player instead of a Marcus Smart. Tatum and Brown are really going to need to improve their defensive games….I think this move only alleviates offensive concerns but defense is going to become a big problem quickly
the celtics have so many great two way pieces built for modern nba basketball, I have no doubt they will do well in the regular season and handle their early matchups in the playoffs but in the late rounds against the best teams I don’t think any of jaylen Tatum or kp are winning u many games in crunch time against most other stars on contenders, they haven’t shown it to me yet, curry did exactly this to them in the finals and Jimmy did it to them practically just on defense this year
No need to be excited, celtics will be worse than last season. Porzingis is so overrated, and made of glass. He sneez and get injured, someone breath his direction and KP is injured again. But its not all bad, coach cant be any worse than last year.
Only real thing I’m concerned is the playmaking where is coming from besides White/Brogdon and is it enough to get away from the dreaded iso ball that stagnates the offense
Remember we had no depth in 2022 finals. The bench that year was P.P, Grant, Theis, and White .This year looking good. They are going back to defensive identity is what they keep saying. We have PP, Malcom, hauser, walsh, brisset, blake, kornet, and a few more worthy players
In my eyes,as a ride or die for Miami It’s so weird looking at the Celtics perspective looking at it from a heat fans perspective. As an unbiased basketball fan, and had Boston beating us this last ECF series. The one thing that stood out to me was watching how Jaylen and Jayson took turns on offense, rather than finding legitimate ways to play off each other. Jayson has to understand that he is the alpha. He is the key. Once he learns that he is that guy, the whole game changes. Jaylen will never be the one best player on a championship, with all respect.
Honestly, lost all my hype for this team once Miami beat them. They're not champions and never will be, that's the worst feeling for fans too. Knowing your team is all in for years and they just lose due to their own bad habits and stupidity. Bad coach, bad iso, bad habits. It's just not worth hoping. Honestly, we can only be happy we're not bottom tier… For now…
As a Cs fan funky hit the nail on the head talking about the absolute perfect offense we played to start the season with the offball movement, but we randomly decided to just play iso and chuck threes near the end of the season and playoffs. Because of how perfect they looked to start, I was honestly comfortable letting the team run it back as it was really just a coaching issue but with the moves the Cs made I hope I’m wrong….
I really loath the moves the celtics did this season. smart was the soul of the team and the leader. instead they got pingus tingus who while is an amazing player, is made of the same shit embiid, AD, Kawhi and zion are
I just don't see this team as being capable of winning a championship. I think their ceiling is the 90s Knicks, a good team, great even when they're firing on all cylinders but just end up coming short.
Whenever you talk about other teams, you are brilliant. When you talk about the Celtics, like all other celtic fans, you are delusional and cringe. The celtics are the 3rd if not 4th best team in the East. And they aren’t even close to the western conference
While Boston is still near the top of a funky eastern conference they do not have the same defensive identity they had when William and Smart were there. I dont foresee problems on offense unless they again finish the season being 3pts happy but the defense will be where it will be decided. The question with Tingus was always "Will he stay healthy enough?" and what do you know, he already will be off his feet for 6 weeks now. You should always worry about a 7'3 player with frequent injuries starting training campcomimg off plantar fascitis and the whole "should he take some more time instead of if risquing re-injuring the foot?" and all that comes with it. The idea was to start the season whistling by the graveyard and not try to think about worst case scenarios. Fascitis isnt as severe as many other foot injuries but the inflammation often returns and its more of a nagging injury. Being dependent on often injured players is not fun way to live for fans q. Funky might need a Costco sized PeptoBismol.
KP will be a huge factor. Dude just can’t stay healthy, he either doesn’t play or plays poorly when he’s got something bothering him. If he can avoid getting hurt they’re a threat
I still think their biggest problem is coaching. I don't think they will get better in the playoffs, I don't think their coach will play Rob Williams as much as he should, and I don't think Tatum or Brown make any meaningful movement forward. Its the same team with the same problems as last year just a slightly different roster
Used to hate the celtics so damn much, but now that philly has taken the hate title I wouldn't mind if you guys won. Still would prefer the Raptors or Nuggets but championships are hard.

I don’t trust KP Rob & Brogdon to stay healthy all season. Horford is gonna miss games as well. Praying they’re all healthy for the playoffs 🙏🏽

Sucks we don’t have Marcus Smart anymore
Don’t think this core will ever get it done.
Without watching the video yet, I'm sure it's about Porzingis and his current injury 😂

Tatum needs to get rid of that bullshit ass trainer he works with.
Porzingis will be a huge miss.
Love how everyone thinks Celtics will be great. Keeps odds great for me🤑 As long as Joe M is coach I'm betting big $ on under🤫
I wish this team the worst after what they did to IT.
I’m just nervous ngl I think we missed are chance to win
I think the depth come playoff time won’t be an issue barring any injuries, I expect them to play like 8 or 9 guys anyways.

Is @afunkydiabetic a LIRIK fan, lowkey?
I’m loving that I have a funky video after a long day of school and work
hope they don't make playoffs

As a fellow Celtics fan, I'm really just desperate to see these guys win lmao
Just close out a freakin game, for crying out loud
Celtics fans are delusional. How many times do you need to see them lose?
