Biggest Rui Homer out there and I think second unit all day! If he starts he's most likely the fifth option…. tough to justify the contract if he's not getting looks. Let him cook with the second squad and fill in for Bron on off nights. Regardless this year for Rui is going to be special! #Blacksamurai
You are absolutely right… Rui would be more successful coming off the bench. So long as he gets his minutes, he’ll have more opportunities to score playing with the second unit. I hope they run actual plays for Rui, which I think they will because this past year he had to try creating everything himself. If used correctly, Rui can become a star player… seriously!!! Playing on the first unit would probably help his ego, but it would also severely limit his touches. On the second unit Rui could really shine…
Rui would be perfect as the 6th man. Vando changes the Lakers defensive scheme because he can guard smaller guards and PF. He can be instant offense off the bench.
I’d start Vincent, AR, Prince, LeBron & AD. Gives you well rounded guys that can all defend, handle, create, pass & shoot and are playing their natural positions where you start the game with balance of O & D at every position. DLo or Rui as your 6 depending on matchup for instant O. Vando off the bench as your stopper unless he’s really developed his 3 in the off-season
