Given that few subs love a backup-backup-backup center more than this one, let’s discuss whether the Cavs should pursue JaVale to fill the last spot on their roster. Sound off!

I’ll start: no.
Love me some (in a Shaq voice) JAVALE MCGEE. In all seriousness as a back up center you can do worse.
No. Too old.
The Mavs (and Raptors, Hornets) should be a caustionary tale for those who think starting caliber centers grow on trees and are easy to get. Just look at the list of guys they have run through trying to fill that role going all the way back to when Tyson Chandler was allowed to walk after 2011. Culminating in them giving a 35 year old Javale McGee a 3-year $17.2 million contract only to waive and stretch him a calendar year later.
Would rather have Garuba
On paper he would have been the perfect center for a luka krie team. But he couldn’t even get minutes in dallas.
That means to me that he is most definitely washed at the point
I like him as a locker room presence a lot
With Damien Jones and Isiaha Mobley I personally think were full at the 5. Unless people have no faith in either of those guys – which is probably fair.
He would probably play a Lopez role. Wouldn’t be mad at it
I wouldn’t thinking negatively on signing him, but he’s not my first choice. I think there’s more need for depth on the wing.
He’s not the same guy as last time he was here
We are better off giving Damian Jones those minutes
I’d take him for the min, he’s slowed down but he’s a lot more playable than Robin Lopez(shot 9% higher from the field than Lopez did year before we got him, 4% better block%, 15% better DReb%)
