Noah Lyles is dominating at the World Athletics Championships becoming the first man to win both the 100 and 200 at World Championship since Usain Bolt. He also seems to think the NBA isn’t the world’s top basketball league.

lol it’s funny because he thinks he’s the first guy to ever bring this up.
that said, this guy runs really fast and i root for him to do well.
Just wait until this guy finds out that people from outside the US play in the league
You’re stupid af if you think whoever wins the nba championship isn’t the best team in the world
Everybody hurts, Noah.
I play real sports. Not trying to be the best at exercising – Kenny Powers
Wow, I have never heard this take, or even considered it before. I have to say, my entire world view has been shaken to its core.
Who is Noah Lyles
World champion because if they can win the nba finals, they can win vs any country in the world.
I’m sure he’s a great sprinter. But, who the fuck is this guy? Id like to see what other country is going to put together that’s close to the US.
Imagine just winning a world championship and being sad about the NBA. Get a therapist, bud.
USA! USA!
Well yeah, the team that wins the championship is the NBA world champion – the best NBA team in the world.
A team from like Spain couldn’t be an NBA world champion because they don’t have any NBA teams – they would be the La Liga world champion (or whatever the basketball equivalent league is called).
The only American sport you can say this about is Soccer lol

NBA doesn’t really use the term “world champion” at least not in any official branding or messaging. It’s always “NBA champion”. They used to use “world champion” but I’m pretty sure they started phasing this out in the 90s when the league started to be globally popular.
Yeah sorry Noah when we’ve won like all but one gold medal since the Olympics introduced basketball, whoever wins the NBA championship is the world champion.
just call it nba champion because thats literally what it is. world champions should be saved for olympic gold
Wait until he finds out Toronto isn’t even in the United States.
Everything offends someone if they look hard enough for it.
Calling it World Champion is indeed corny when there’s only one NBA team outside the US. Doesn’t matter if you believe they’re the best in the world, they only won a championship over 30 US teams and 1 Canadian.
To say you don’t know or like basketball without outright saying so.
And Canada
Bros sad no one cares he won
You know what really hurts me the most? That I have to read dumb opinions from guys like this that think any team in the world would make the playoffs that isn’t currently involved with the nba
Noah Lyin
By this rhetoric we might ascertain that no team could ever be the best team at anything. What are they supposed to say “last year the Nuggets won the contiguous United States and partially Canada’s annual round robin?” TFOH with this pedantry.
He is right it’s really the NA champion like him or not.It is funny though both sides have some strong points.Downvote and I repaste it lol.
Wow Noah, nobody has ever had this thought.
To be young and dumb again.
World champion because technically NBA is international with a team in Toronto and 2, because everyone knows NBA is the best and most talented bball league in the world
Noah Lyles, you idiot. World champions because the NBA is the pinnacle of a basketball league. That’s where the top players around the world dream to play. Yes.l, it’s rare another country wins the Olympics l, and sometimes they win a fiba world title, BUT THEIR BEST PLAYER PLAYS IN THE NBA.
Honestly, the top tier of the nba consists of a lot of international players… but they’re all spread so thin between their respective countries. The US would absolutely rock every other country if the top tier players had enough incentive
Why is he so salty lol
He’s partly right. The NBA has a lot of international players but is still a North American sports league. However, so many of the best stars are from countries around the world, so the international presence is a great thing to see.
“World” doesn’t have to mean a competition between nations. Not everything has to be about nation states and flag waving.
