Steph would make the Bad Boy Pistons cry if anything lol

  2. jawadhaque089

Steph is giving the entire Pistons team a cardio workout

  3. kiwiwikikiwiwikikiwi

I love Charles, but come on lol

This generation of players (Steph, Giannis, LeBron, etc) could have handled physicality if the game today allowed them like the 90s…

  4. The_PHOnomenal_One

If anything, Steph would break them. Ten 3s a game. Dribble pull up from 30. Better handles than what was seen at the time. They wouldn’t know what to do.

  5. RyanBlackburn

I’m with Chuck. Curry doesn’t have a mean bone on his body. He’ll probably not cry but he’ll struggle with the physicality and overall hostility of the game. You saw Lonnie Walker destroying Curry in the playoffs. Now imagine the likes of I Thomas or Barkley doing that to him.

Edit: lmao at delusional butthurt Stephisexuals

  6. MuirMusk

“Bronny James would break if he played against the Grit and Grind Grizzlies”

    ^ Us in 7 years

  7. ImTheBestNerd

Stephs TS is 13% higher than league average back then he would torch the fuck out of them lol

  8. vrkhfkb

Chuck is right IF the rules were still like what they were back then. Curry is already very brittle. Those dirty ass Pistons would be sliding their feet under every curry jumpshot. Bashing him on the head when he tries to come into the lane with that push off floater. Grabbing Curry’s jersey when he tries his Curry slide dribble moves. Etc.

  9. An-Ignorant-Slut

Just because he hasn’t had the chance to experience it personally shouldn’t mean he doesn’t have it in him to overcome it

  10. girlscoutcookies05

Chuck is right in the sense that they cant guard him so they will try to fight him

(But steph strong as hell tho)

One thing that bugs me about the NBA is that it feels like older generaion players and media love to go on and on about how much worse modern players, even the top ones like Curry and Giannis(who apparently would be a bench player according to Charles Oakley), would be if they played in a older era. There’s such a tiresome animosity towards current generations.

  12. birdflag

If Steph played in the late 80s under those rules, yes he would get fouled a lot and have a hard time on D. If the Bad Boys played in 2023, they would be even worse than the current Pistons and probably give up 150 a game.

  13. wintertime0411

basketball old heads are my nemesis

  14. Jungle_dweller

I’ve got a feeling Steph would up his 3PA and hang with them just fine. If we’re playing the what if game, it’s not like the bad boys have experience defending people from half court.

  15. KuyaJohnny

This sub is going to have a fit about it (already happening) but Barkley is right.

Not because the pistons were more skilled than Steph (they weren’t) but because there was close to no protection for players from hard/dirty fouls.

  16. Toddric29

I like how everyone believes the previous generation would adapt to the new NBA but the new generation is incapable of adapting.

  17. Charlie_Steve

Surely I’m not the only one who thinks old players need to stop being so insecure about this. If Barkley played in today’s league, Curry would run circles around him. The league changes, not that complicated.

  18. Next-Firefighter-753

Curry would get zaza’d by 80’s zaza

    Bill Laimbeer

  19. BurnerAccountforAss

Something tells me Joe Dumars, as underrated as he’s become over the years, wouldn’t be used to guarding MFers 28 feet from the basket

  20. Therealomerali

I don’t understand why old heads think assaulting players on the court means they’re more better at basketball.

  21. TemporaryValue5755

The classic i can’t guard you so I’ll have to try to injure you. Such skill.

  22. System_Lower

Quite the opposite. Steph would break the league.

  23. The oldheads have a point. Most players these days can’t even play 82 games a season. Now we call random role players “ironmen” for doing it lmao

  24. Overall-Palpitation6

What exactly are today’s players supposedly not able to handle? Are they going to be like “right, I quit” at the first sign of physicality, or will they just adapt and survive?

If we had a 1989 All-NBA boxing or MMA tournament, I guarantee you that Bill Laimbeer or Rick Mahorn wouldn’t win. They were “tough” in a basketball context, because they were willing to go outside the rules and hit unexpecting people when they were in vulnerable positions. That’s not “tough” or good basketball. It’s not suppsed to be part of the game. In a fair proper fight, they would have been chumps.

  25. LyonsKing12

    Early Steph, yes.

    Post weight room Steph, no.

  26. FightMiilkHendrix

Curry would drop 40 on them they’re used to guarding guards in the midrange zero spacing lmao. They would get absolutely lit up from the outside

  27. skywalkerRCP

NBA is a fucking disgrace when it comes to current and former generations.

  28. lancer7917

Yeah sure. I remember Chris Mullin lighting up the Bad Boys defense during a 1990 regular season game in January. 37 points 10/16 FG 4/5 3PT. The game is on YouTube somewhere.

I watched Michael Adams average 26.5 ppg in that era. Some of my peers are just delusional.

  29. Party-Ad-7077

Old heads do this but if you SLIGHTLY criticize players from the past they’ll act like you said you hope their mother is burning In hell

  30. To be fair. The was a lot harder back then. Guys like Curry but alot of the current player would get injured.

But i also think skilled wise those old heads dont have a place in this League

  31. adingdingdiiing

Let’s update the rules then, and then try the discussion again:

The bad boy Pistons would look lost, absolutely clueless if they played Steph Curry right now.🤷

  32. Misterstaberinde

Curry more muscular than nearly every star guard in the 80s.

Imagine Curry playing against teams during the illegal defense era.

  33. Richardduh

Pistons played prison ball not nba lol
