Josh looks like this has been his team for years lol Patty passing the torch to our next FIBA superstar.

  2. I know we won by 20 but this team is just not it. Getting cooked by Hawkins inside bruh like cmon.

Man we really needed another big, Landale going down is going to hurt eventually.

Great night for Giddey enjoyers (me)

Cooks was awesome. 24 and 16 with 2 blocks

Patty’s shooting was off but the 9 assists is nice. Really liked Green in the starting lineup too

That’s nice but I’m gonna need more Duop Reath.

Baby Boomers looked locked in tonight; both Josh’s were on fire. Giddey’s control on the ball is so impressive at 20 years old, especially at that height. The team feels in safe hands with him over the next few years.

Great game for Xavier, though he seemed like he was just a bad match-up for Japan.

    Reath needs to play more.

Giddey and Cooks showed up big time. Huge games from them to lead Australia.

Japan put up one hell of a fight and were scoring like crazy in the second half, so credit to them.

Pretty fun game, but Australia was a bit sloppy and played a bit too loose on defense in the second half. Need to tighten things up for the next stage of the tournament.

    LETS GOOO BOOMERS!!! 🦘 🇦🇺 🏀

Cooks went absolute beast mode in this game, Japan had no answer for him on the O boards. Oh and Australia absolutely bullied Japan in height. Felt sorry for Kawamura getting posted up by Giddey. Smart play

  9. Australia didn’t quite get the 24 point margin needed to beat the spread to even the points gap for the next round with Germany and let Hawkinson get 33 points which is embarrassing, great they won but arguably didn’t get the result they needed overall.

patty looks cooked tbh, would much rather dante and greeny have his starting and crunch time minutes

also not sure why reath is playing so little, our only guy with real size and has actually looked half decent this tourney

Base off consistency I’d bench patty for the start, run with giddey, green, duop, Dante and cooks

  12. Going to need some magical 3pt shooting to get anywhere rest of tournament… or maybe some defence.

I don’t get why we didn’t put on Goulding and Daniels earlier. What is the point of having them if they can’t even get minutes when we are up by 17. Kay is absolutely atrocious. How does he make the team over Thon Maker when we haven’t got a legit C.

  14. Positives:

    – Josh Giddey in general

    – Xavier Cooks on the O Glass

    – Australian record in points for a World Cup
    – Josh Giddey, but this time in the 4th
    – Duop Reath started REAL strong

    Negatives:

    – Couldn’t put Japan away even though we were up by 20 the entire game
    – Joe stops playing to complain still
    – Matisse looked eh
    – Size matters – Hawkinson scored 33! on us
    – We play Slovenia next? yikes

Really need to remove the curse placed on Australian Bigs, they’ve had a rough deal with injuries.

Bogut, Baynes and Landale all having some injuries to keep them out of tournaments or missing games. Definitely got exposed tonight with out lack of size. Reath does a serviceable job but we need just a little bit better.

This started ok but man we keep losing our way for periods and good teams will cut us up. We needed another big, and i wish we had another shooter, maybe give Chris some run.

  17. Hawkinson gonna get some backup big looks from NBA teams after this tourney. High BBIQ, can shoot 3s, top tier rebounder, seems clean cut and low maintenance, and is 6’10”. Color me impressed.

  18. It was an expected loss, but damn Yuta cooked considering he was playing through injury
