The Christian Wood noise seems to be real and if that’s the case we already have, Love, Highsmith, Jovic, and some Caleb/Jimmy lineups where we have a decent+ PF worthy of minutes. Then there’s some potential Bam-Thomas Bryant front court minutes. If the Wood interest truly is mutual he must be under the impression he will be getting a pretty decent diet of consistent minutes
Khem Birch is *probably* preferable for us over somebody with longterm money (like Devontae Graham 2/$24m) even though he won’t get minutes he’s cheap matching salary to make the Dame trade work and comes off the books next summer to let us re-sign Caleb whereas with Devontae there’s the danger he just doesn’t get many minutes and is a contract we have to attach assets to dump which is a dangerous gamble when we already have the Duncan Robinson contract that we aren’t sure about
That should leave us enough flexibility to sign Wood to the TPMLE of $5m. Active cap at $178.6m which is just below the 2nd apron of $182.5m
