3 on 3 basketball is a different sport from 5 on 5 basketball, just like beach volleyball is different from regular volleyball. I don't see how the NBA could enforce a noncompetition clause for a different sport. Other players, such as Jud Beuchler, played a different pro sport (Volleyball in his case… Danny Ainge also played in the MLB)
