Potential Trades the Grizzlies should be entertaining

I think most Grizzlies fans, while still happy about our current position and future, would agree that we need to do something about the Small Forward position.

We have a real chance to be championship contenders this season, in my opinion, if we could pull off one of these trades:

Grizzlies get: OG Anunoby

Raptors get: Brandon Clarke, Ziaire Williams, Josh Christopher, Grizzlies 2024 1st and 2025 1st Rd picks

Why this could happen: Kind of goes without saying at this point. We’ve been in rumors with OG since the trade deadline last year. With Kenny Lofton and Santi coming in strong we can afford to lose BC I think. We don’t really need Christopher seeing as we have Ja, Drose, Smart, Bane, Kennard, and Konchar. That’s more than enough guards for us. Raptors are going to be stuck in limbo if they keep hovering around the middle of the pack. They’re just in no way a serious contender right now and they need to go ahead and start the rebuild. Oh, and the Cap works.

________

Grizzlies get: Bojan Bogdanovich and Jalen Duren

Pistons get: Brandon Clarke, Ziaire Williams, Josh Christopher, Grizzlies 2024, 2025, and 2026 first Rd picks.

Why this could happen: The Pistons are still in rebuild mode with a very young core. Ziaire still has a ton of potential and he fits the extremely young timeline for Detroit perfectly. Bojan is already 34. Detroit is not in win now mode like Memphis. Also, Detroit’s backup guards are horrible(kiliian Hayes getting 28 mpg for example) and they are stacked at Center now that they have Wiseman. Durens playing time took a huge hit once Wiseman entered the picture. Grizzlies can mold Duren under Steven Adams as the future brick wall, tough man in the middle. BC would give Detroit one of the most athletic PFs in the league who would, in my eyes, be a better fit with the bigs they already have.

Oh, and the Cap works!

_________

Grizzlies get: Mychal Bridges

Nets get: Same guys and picks (the only one that makes sense and the numbers work)

Why this could happen: Same as OG. We’ve been talking about making this happen. The Nets need to start their rebuild sooner than later so they don’t get stuck in limbo, picking in the middle of the draft and what not. Gives them a ton of young assets to build their future around.

All these trades make sense to me. Maybe there’s some tweaking of players and more picks that will need to be thrown in to get it done. I think it’d be worth it at this point though. The Grizzlies would be immediate championship contenders.

What trade would y’all want the most? Are there any other ideas that make sense? I’m interested in y’all’s take on this. I’d hate to have another instance where we get toasted by Lebron(or KD or Khawi, etc.) In the playoffs again. Or maybe we should just stay with what we got. Roddy has shown some really good signs at being Dillons replacement. I’ve also even heard the idea floating around Santi possibly playing some 3. Laravia and Ziaire have a ton of length and potential as well and I wouldn’t mind watching them develop. I just think championships are the main goal, and if we have the opportunity to get one of these guys I believe we become an immediate favorite in the west for the next 2 or 3 years atleast.

If any of these trades were possible they would have already happened

I mean we practically offered the second two at the deadline with a number of 1st round picks attached and got no takers.
