I'm convinced that Canada is just an extension of the US.
this world cup, and explosions from teams like canada, could spark something big for basketball globally. latvia gave the canadians as much work, maybe even more, than france did in the first half. despite missing kristaps and their captain. sport has never been bigger around the world, there’s never been this many eyes on the tournament. if another country besides america were to win gold twice in a row here, it might force them to take international play seriously. setting up an olympics where all the best nba stars want to play. probably wont happen that quickly, but we are clearly headed toward a future where basketball development overseas starts to match america. 10-15 years from now, we might see teams that can stack up against america at their best

If this squad had Wiggins and Murray on it I would’ve had them picked to win the whole tournament. But even without they are still the biggest threat to USA. I would still favor USA but by slight margin
France doesn’t have nearly the depth to handle these switches. Playing the US would be a completely different animal.
