Just wanna know what you guys all think about these on/offs over the past 3 seasons. You can find it on PBP Stats. Anyways it’s interesting don’t you think?
Adfitionally, Tobias Harris’s 3P% in every losing playoff round with the Sixers:
2019: 27.9%
2020: 13.3%
2021: 36.4%
2022: 33.3%
2023: 25.9%

Tobias has been 3rd or 4th most important player the last 3 seasons so I don’t know how much can be learned from this
So the sixers are better with the MVP than they are without him surprising.
Embiid’s efforts have been covering up Harris’s below average play since the day they traded for him. I don’t think this is news.
At this point I think everyone knows that Tobias Harris is ass and has been the biggest issue with this team.
Tobi is one of the worst possible fits you can have with Embiid.
His whole repertoire basically mimics what Embiid by backing down mismatches except he’s smaller, can’t back down people smaller than him, has a worse post up game, and is a worse mid range shooter than Embiid. So basically you have two players who spend the entire shotclock trying to back down their man clogging up the paint except Tobi is not efficient at it.
Doesn’t really excel at catch and shoot 3’s and his favorite move is to pass them up to drive into paint with 3 people standing there (who were doubling or tripling Embiid in the paint).
his efficiency wanes but that’s not the biggest issue. the problem with Tobias is that he simply is just not effective when the intensity rises in the playoffs. he’s not beating guys for loose balls, he’s not diving on the floor, he’s not a tenacious rebounder and he does not make quick reads (which you need to do in the playoffs)
All I see here is that Tobias isn’t good on defense, which is nothing new. I will admit he improved a lot since first coming here though.
