John Hollinger: “I think we’re at the point where Miami’s best offer is the best deal Portland is gonna get. Portland is incentivized to wait and see if they can do better, but I don’t think they’re gonna be able to do better.”

**Nate Duncan:**

>What is the minimum package you would take from Miami for Damian Lillard?

**John Hollinger:**

>I think we’re already at that point.. I think we’re at the point where Miami’s best offer is the best deal Portland is gonna get. Portland is incentivized to wait and see if they can do better, but I don’t think they’re gonna be able to do better.

>At some point, it’s going to be the deal they end up taking. Whether it’s 3 firsts and Tyler Herro or 4 firsts because Herro’s going somewhere else for a first round pick. I just don’t see what other team is outbidding that.

**Duncan:**

>If they even got to 3 first round picks — or maybe even a swap a little further out — given his contractual situation and age? Yes, that’s enough.

**Hollinger:**

>The time to trade him [Dame] was 2 years ago. They could have gotten the ‘Paul George special’ back then. But that time has passed.

>..It is my expectation that he will be in Miami at some point during the course of the season. I don’t know if that’s at the start of the season.

The best offer probably got even worse now that Jovic is showing out lol

People act like Portland has the leverage in this situation. What incentive does Miami even have to offer their best offer — which would be Herro, filler (Lowry or Duncan), Jovic, JJJ, and three Miami first round picks.

Based on Barry and Sham’s reporting, it seems as if the Heat have been willing to offer Herro, one of the young guys, two picks of their own with a third pick coming from a third team like Brooklyn in exchange for Herro.

Portland literally has no other offers. Don’t see the incentive for the Heat to move off from the weaker package, other than the off chance that this gets Portland to move faster on completing the deal. Considering the way Portland has acted though in their unwillingness to engage, I say fuck’em.

We’ve got a lot of good things going right now. I’m not about to make some desperation bid for a 33yr old PG who’s owed 58mill and 63mill in the last two years of his deal when he’ll be Lowry’s age…

The more Portland holds on to him the lower the asking price will be. If they’re smart they’ll let him go before training camp.

And all the other morons out there. Portland fans especially talking about all the packages they could be getting. Ok! Name one contending team that has a better package than Miami or needs Dame.

Unless you’d like to trade your all time legend to the Magic, which good luck ever getting anyone to respect your franchise if you do that to an all time legend.

When notorious Heat hater and Chandler Parsons’ biggest fan John Hollinger is saying this then you know Portland is cornered. They really thought bringing a disgruntled star they lied to into camp won’t affect that locker room whatsoever.
