Patrick Beverley expects Anthony Edwards to eventually leave Minnesota: “He will get out of Minnesota. That’s just what happens. That’s no disrespect to Minny. With that personality, he can change the world with basketball. He is the type of player that you need to see.”

draymond got fined like 50k for saying that about booker didn’t he

  2. weesescups

If he plays through this max contract here and we don’t look like contenders, I really don’t blame him.

  3. bookaahkeee

If Minnesota didn’t currently have a great roster I’d agree but if ant is who we think he is then he should get the twolves to the finals

  4. Magazine_Mediocre

How dare you stab us in the backs like this Patrick?? WE TOOK YOU IN AS ONE OF OUR OWN

  5. The_PHOnomenal_One

Fortunately, we are at least a minimum of 4 years away from that talk.

  6. Inverse_wsb22

I believe SpongeBob Patrick more than this version of Patrick

  7. PRsAndDR

How many star players actually spend their whole career with one team? And I bet it happens even less in today’s era.

  8. Bladex20

And this is why the NBA will never touch the NFL. Imagine saying this about Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow or even Justin Jefferson

  9. Mental-Bit

Team has to be better. If the team is good they’ll put you on national tv more

  10. ninjadfool

Isn’t this what everyone (other than Tims fans) is saying though?

  11. niddiboi

Keep that same energy with Jokic and Giannis, Bev. L take.

Small market teams are just talent farms for the big market teams

  13. Frontier21

OR, and here me out because this is a wild idea…maybe the NBA and networks play a few non-LA and Golden State games every once in awhile. I know it sounds crazy, but maybe, just maybe, basketball fans would watch Minny and OKC and Sacramento and Indy if they could.

Seriously, the NBA needs to check in with the NFL and see how they are able to market stars in small markets and create must-watch games regardless of who is playing. Instead of hitting fans over the head with Steph and LeBron, maybe they could market their young stars. There is so much BAD basketball being played because the NBA only shows old players.

“Stand up now and face the su- fuck off Pat Bev”

    – Wolves fans

  15. BeyondTimberdome

Looks like Bev got told he’s not gonna get a new contact here

  16. SenpaiBoogie

That’s a fact . KAT hasn’t improved the team isn’t going anywhere endless kat takes it to a new level or they bring talent but I doubt ppl wanna play in cold ass Minnesota.

  17. Background_Action_92

It must be a horrid feeling when you are a small market team and your superstar in waiting is already getting coaxed to leave the team.

  18. CountTwoTenAgain

That’s why I’m glad Aaron Rodgers went from Green Bay to New York. Now fans can watch him play and find out how great he is. Also, now that he’s in a big market he can get some commercials and sponsorships 🤪🤪🤪

  19. Remember when Pat said the next 5 years was his

  20. joshwaynebobbit

Been telling my son this for years. As a Mavs fan, all the talk of getting Luka a second star, I’ve always said “no rush. He’s young. Wait for HIS peers to start leaving the usual suspects. Minny, Charlotte, NO, Orlando, Washington, they’ll all end up losing their stars and supporting cast and begin new rebuilds. It’s no disrespect to the teams or fans, and I feel bad for those fans, but it’s how it is. The ownership just never seems to have the stomach for a fight in those cities.

  21. A_Watchful_Eye2

Pat Bev should give his thoughts on his teammate, James Harden and the train wreck the 76ers are looking forward to this season instead of trying to be headline relevant off Ant’s name who’s got nothing but praise this Summer.

  22. Honestly, is anyone surprised? Players can handle a small market when you’re winning like Jokic or Giannis, but it becomes a little bit harder when their team isn’t considered a true contender because of their lack of playoff success. Players don’t want failure attached to them because it hurts their brand and legacy.

Then you also factor in money and ego, and it’s no surprise when they go find a big market to play for. I guarantee some of these young guys on team USA are already thinking about the kind of a global superstar they’d be in LA if they were on the Lakers and shown the same kind of love Reaves is currently receiving. Austin Reaves doesn’t even need to say a word trying to recruit because the seed has already been planted with some of his teammates who are seeing it up close. Playing for a GOOD Lakers team is basically a rockstar lifestyle that most athletes would love to experience.

  23. This narrative is like 10 years past it’s expiration date.

  24. Thick-Appearance-603

Fuck it. Let’s just get rid of all the small market teams. Think that’ll be the best thing for the league.

  25. venmome10cents

    “change the world with basketball”

LOL…these guys are delusional and I love it

  26. inshamblesx

Idk why people are shitting on Pat Bev when he’s right. That Gobert trade will ruin Minnesota’s chances of being a contender for at least 7 years

  27. Vegetable_lasagna_1

Ant would be a perfect fit for Chicago

  28. Ouchyhurthurt

Hes right about that, it is not a Minny issue… it is a big one.

But in all seriousness, its a HUGE fault of the league that they only really promote a few teams. Generally teams that are located in “glamour markets” or have LeBron James are the only ones getting consistent attention xD

  29. rambler13

I think we should have a subreddit-wide ban on anything patbev says.

  30. Smooth_97

    He’s hollywood!!!

PURPLE AND GOLD LOOKS NICE ANT

  31. -fallen

small markets either get extremely lucky or they’re farm teams for superstars

  32. kellan1977

This statement is what is wrong with the NBA. Until they fix this mentality they will always be behind the NFL.

  33. Drawing_The_Line

If this is true, then Minnesota shouldn’t even be a franchise. It’s ridiculous that generational players can’t be on certain teams because they’re not “big market” enough. Fans and cities deserve better if they belong to the NBA. And if it’s due to the bad ownership, then force them to sell to a financially committed owner or move. The league becomes a joke when you have a few Globetrotters and many Generals. If the idea he’s saying, and I don’t think Pat Bev is necessarily wrong here either, is that if you’re a superstar you can’t play for certain teams and must go to the Lakers or Heat, etc., then what even is the NBA but a farce.

  34. aaden08

KG was better and won MVP there, and even he said he wished he left earlier to Boston.

That’s all you need to know.
