Mark was very gracious with his time. I learned a ton and recommend 'Reborn: The Pacers and the Return of Pro Basketball to Indianapolis' to anyone. What was your favorite nugget from this episode?
Thank you Tony for providing us with a late surprise Thursday episode!
Having our own major city is a blessing to having our own major league teams. I think Indiana gets the boring State monicker alot. But hey, we're not Iowa, Nebraska, Idaho, Dakotas void of pro sports where we have to go out of state to attend a game. That's what I took away from this discussion.
I remember in 90's the Pacers were the toast of the town. Until one year the Colts got first overall pick in a draft that had a generational QB, rest is history. But, I do think this franchise is gaining new younger fans in last 2 years. Most Colts fans are middle aged. The tide might be changing back to 90's a little bit.
I started following team 1968. I can't remember a time before Mel & Slick. I remember Neto, Pacers traded him to newly relocated San Antonio Spurs
We should go back to red, white and blue ball. And Oscar did play first game at Market Square
Idc about basketball unless it's Birds 80's+, Kareem last title year.. but mostly real ball started when MJ entered the league in 1984.. anything before that and I'm bored….
They should give me the money and a car for making a layup.
@TonyEast. You should have Mathurin on the show, Nesmith, Nembhard and Smith. I'd like to hear their take on the upcoming season and what they plan to bring to their game this year. To take it to the next level. Let them talk and then half to back it up. Lol I really hope to see all these guy's playing their best basketball.
I've never heard of Reggie Hardening 💀 Reggie Miller.. Yes. Lol
