>Boriša Simanić underwent his first surgery on 30th of August, but due to post-operative complications, he underwent another surgery yesterday, in which doctors removed his kidney completely. > >Simanic was injured at the very end of the third match of the first part of the competition against South Sudan on 30 August (115:83) when Nuni Omot elbowed him in the kidney area. Omot immediately apologised to Simanić.

>”Due to complications of the injured kidney during the post-operative procedure, Boriša Simanić was operated on again on 3rd of September. Due to changes in the vitality of the kidney tissue, his entire kidney had to be surgically removed. Damn that’s heart wrenching. See me personally if I was the doctor I would’ve saved that kidney.

Was this guy extremely unlucky or did he have some kind of preexisting condition like a weak kidney or something?
I can’t remember something like this happening in the NBA or anywhere before. The most horrific injury I seen was probably Paul George breaking his leg.
