And again not a single mention of trying to win a chip for a team who’s never won.

I’ve said it before – only role players think like that. Because if you’re Patrick Beverley, yeah, you need that LA market to get noticed.
Lebron was the top vote getter long before he ever got to LA. Giannis had the most in the entire east, been with Milwaukee his whole career. Donovan Mitchell has been Utah and Cleveland, and he’s at the top of fan voting. Kyrie blew up in Cleveland. Dame in Portland. Westbrook in OKC. Ja Morant in Memphis. Zion plays for New Orleans, and he barely plays, but everybody votes for him because he’s a highlight machine.
When your game speaks for itself, you don’t need the help. It’s role players like Lonnie Walker that need the boost. He was a top 20 vote getter. Or a good-not-great player like Reaves. Only got 1 player vote, but was 9th in fan voting.
So it makes sense why somebody like Pat Beverley would think that way. He can’t relate to a world where you are super famous strictly based on your basketball ability. He thinks you need the market boost to hoist you up, because for him, he does in fact need that. Mega stars do not. They are the market.

Top right dude is not a real NBA fan. More focused on the drama and media than a level playing field. Shameful

Pat Bev is an idiot
He should know more than anybody being in the league for so long, we care about chips and that stuff more than the players.
As long as the relationship isn’t complete trash, if we offer full max with bird rights kicker, these guys are professionals they take the money!

Ja in Memphis, Giannis in Milwaukee, Jokic in Denver, Zion in NO, Wemby in San Antonio…. all smaller markets then Minnesota. I have no idea why a sentence out of Pat Bevs mouth holds so much weight.
Love how everyone is like Pat Bev is spot on for his take on Anthony Edwards like he is a prophet but no one picked up on him saying KAT was the most gifted 5 man in the league.
