I actually think that if it is a straight up trade of IQ for OG, it's probably a good one for the Knicks simply because it balances our bench much better. We have too many guards and too few forwards with the addition of Donte and the loss of Obi. But, it's unlikely Raptors would do a 1 on 1 trade without demanding a few picks and then, it stops being smart for us. We need to keep trade capital for a bigger trade. The NBA is ripe for major changes. Multiple all-stars could demand trades on top of at least 2 who have already done so. Maybe, 1 of these might be a good fit for the Knicks and we need all of our draft assets for that. Dame and Harden are bad fits for us, but if Embiid, Giannis, Luka or someone else become available, we need to take that risk and trade for them.
I agree that we shouldn't waste all of our draft capital on players who are not superstars. I really like Bridges and OG but I don't see them with JB being a core of a championship team. But, I would totally trade RJ for Mikal straight up.
