“Mery Andrade, former Portuguese basketball international, achieved a remarkable feat by joining the Toronto Raptors coaching staff. This appointment makes her only the fifth woman in NBA history to hold a coaching position in the most prestigious basketball league in the world.
“This is the realization of part of a dream, something that has been a goal since I embraced the coaching activity. At first I wanted to train at the highest level, but then I realized that the highest level I wanted to conquer was the NBA. The Boston Celtics asked the Pelicans [franchise with which I had a contract in their respective G-League affiliate team, the Birmingham Squadron] for permission so that I could do the Summer League [pre-season tournament] with them because they were interested in offering me a position. I did the Summer League and on the last day the Toronto Raptors spoke to me, I had an interview with the head coach [Darko Rajakovic] and the general manager and then it was decided that I would join the team”, said the former athlete of the respective modality.”

Darko still hiring the assistants he wants is a pretty good sign that the whole Knicks lawsuit isn’t that serious in the orgs eyes. A lot of people here acted like the sky was falling and Darko was doomed.
