To those who were born in the early 90s like me. Who was introduced to Michael Jordan through this movie?

This was my introduction to Bugs Bunny.

Space Jam is a documentary of why Michael “retired” from the NBA in order to save the Looney Toons. He was probably contacted by the MIB to go undercover as an AA baseball player to avoid suspicion from the Nerdlucks.

Not introduced but this movie is seared into my brain. I should rewatch it haha.

Honestly, my father and brother are Knicks fans. So was I until about 4 or 5 when I saw this movie. My mother thought it was cute how much I loved MJ and the Bulls after and nurtured the love and rivalry. Father was *pissed*

I was 11 when this came out and the soundtrack was the first CD I ever bought

My dad took me and my older brother to see space jam when it was first released. I say it’s what got interested in Basketball and the NBA.

Space Jam is an incredible film in that it took several things that I loved (Looney Tunes, 90s NBA players, Bill Murray, Michael Jordan) and made me loathe every second of seeing those things together.

Jordan’s a scrub, couldn’t even get top billing in his Looney Tunes movie, LeBron clears /joke

I just this watched this last night for what might be at least the 77th time. Going to see it in the theatre with my dad and older bros is one of my favorite childhood memories. It’s streaming on hbo max for anyone interested

I was born in ’90, but my intro to MJ was watching Bulls games with my mom.

I watched SpaceJam again recently. It’s alright.

I loved playing the Space Jam video game on the 1st PlayStation with my best friend growing up

I watched this movie several times a day during my early childhood. Looking back on it, I really do wonder why I had such a fixation? It’s a decent odd film, there are other better cartoon films released before and after, but I just wanted to watch Space Jam.

I think my first introduction to MJ was around the finals against the suns, watching games with my grandparents but Space Jam absolutely solidified my totally unbiased love for Jordan. Remember seeing it when it first came out in theaters, my mom bought the vhs when it dropped because I was home that week with chicken pox and the album was the first cd I bought with my own money. I now own it on vinyl as a grown ass man child.

As a Brit born in the early 90’s, MJ was the first player I ever heard of and the bulls the first team. They became my team ever since but only really got into the NBA in the last 2 years.
