The Genius Of The Oklahoma City Thunder Drafting Cason Wallace



The OKC Thunder made one of the identity defining picks of the 2023 NBA Draft. When they traded up to pick 10 to select Kentucky guard Cason Wallace. The NBA decided this year they weren’t going to be foolish and let the clearly good Kentucky guard fall into the 20s, Like they usually do. Wallace was going to be my favorite pick of the night for whatever team drafted him. But I particularly love his fit with OKC. This is a team that has one of the brightest young teams in the league. They have a legit all-nba to superstar level player to build around. And good pieces around that player. So adding Cason Wallace was really important to me. Because OKC is looking to take that leap and potentially become a contender one day. And that starts with having players like Cason Wallace on the roster.

    Wallace will be 6 man for okc I see 10 a game from him could definitely go off when needed will boost defense and play making

    Go way back to the Dynastic Celtics with Bill Russell, and with the best guard defender of all time, KC Jones. That’s what he is and what the Thunder are becoming.

    Cason was shooting over 40% before he injured his back in January. He is going to surprise some people with his shooting. When Dort goes off, and Cason comes in, the team won’t lose a step on D, and may gain on offense. He’s going to make it really hard for the other teams top guard to get a breather.
