The current gsw roster would be decimated, their only true big man is Looney.
Dirty_Quesadilla
Shiiiii Shaq destroyed centers from the 90s to the 00s. NGL i love Dray and his drive, but he’s fucking outta pocket on this one.
foozbinjex
Dray couldn’t even stop AD.

6’7 draymond and 6’9 looney. i think shaq might avg 35 and 15 against these two

Use his 6 fouls as allowed. No one was slowing down The Diesel in the playoffs. And honestly in this era, he’d be praised like LeBron for coasting during the season to preserve his mind and body for the real goal.

GSW is sooo loved by the media. Imagine giving the Finals MVP to Andre for holding LBJ to just about 30ppg.

Nah Shaq would beat his ass like Dudley.
StOnEy333
Draymond would have kicked him in the nuts.

This is fat shaq too.. 96-00′ shaq when he still had all that strength, footwork, explosiveness and be 75lbs lighter. GGs

Realistically speaking they’d probably sell out to try and deny him the entry pass and allow the supporting cast to play 4v3 on offense. On the possessions where they couldn’t keep him from the ball they would employ mixture of hack-a-shaq and hard doubles and everyone crashing the paint to secure rebounds; ideally this spreads the fouls around and keeps any one player from getting into too bad of foul trouble. Basically GS is gonna do what they always do, rely on 3’s and high percentage shots created off ball movement and turn the game into a math equation. If they hold Shaq to a certain number, limit their opponents ft’s and fast fastbreak points, and hit enough 3’s then they at least have a shot. Defensively this is more or less the strategy teams use against Embiid, and it’s pretty effective. Not saying that Embiid is on Shaq’s level, definitely not. But given how modern team’s rosters are generally constructed that’s basically all they can do.

The zone defense was legalized because of Shaq in 01/02.
No zones either & see how Dray & help defenders stop Shaq. You had to commit on doubles or get called for illegal D for sagging in the paint.

I know it’s a cliched thing to say but imagine if Shaq could shoot FTs at a 70% clip. He left so many points on the floor. He’d be the undisputed GOAT.
LA_was_HERE1
Put him n the pick n roll like the jazz did and destroy him defensively
GrapefruitMedical529
His only weakness would be stamina. He’d have to be played like Giannis today and avg 30 minutes a game.

Prime Shaq, in the paint was virtually unstoppable without fouling. Nobody was stopping Shaq consistently (without hack-a-Shaq) back then or today. I feel like people have forgotten just how big, strong, and freakishly quick Shaq was in his prime. Don’t even get me started on his footwork.

I say this as a Draymond fan.
