Shai carried Canada’s offense for a lot of games. So when he was coming up short early on, it didn’t look good for Canada.

Reffing got better but it really put us behind early. Future is still bright, excited to see us battle for bronze on Sunday!

Although I’m not excited for a 4:30 am ET start time

  3. Bummer, excited for the third place game though

A beefed up squad in the Olympics is gonna be awesome

Serbia is without the best player in the world. What a scary team. Congrats to them.

I’m still confused why Olynyck was called for a charge driving to the basket without a player in front of him. Lots of head scratching calls like that. Great game by Serbia tho, they were hitting everything.

  6. Can’t blame the refs on this. We shouldn’t be like insane Luka fans making excuses for him.

Canada made way too many unforced turnovers in the first half and that resulted in ten points right there. Then a lot of undisciplined defense, getting beat then reaching or nudging.

Sucks to lose but what a great run. A turning point for Canadian basketball

Sucks, but Serbia were the better team today. There were 3 main issues with our roster selection for this tournament.

    1. lack of shooters
    2. poor rotation
    3. poor front court

1 and 2 are very easily fixable for the Olympics given our talent pool. Front Court is going to be a problem though.

The fact that Canada made it this far, I’ll gladly say this is the Carter effect coming into full fruition

Now just imagine 10-15 years from now with those who were inspired by our win in 2019…👍🏾

    Our paint defence was non-existent

The cutting and kickouts tore us to pieces. I felt like Vlady divacs and the 2000 kings were playing us

I thought NBA refs were bad holy shit. Calling fouls against us on CLEAN strips and and not calling fouls on Serb when they outright bodycheck Kelly.

If Canada wants to win a FIBA tournament, we’re going to have to put the best players on the floor regardless if they have made 3 year commitments or not. Our weakness has been our depth. Much respect to the guys that have put in work for our squad getting us to this point, but we need higher level talent coming off the bench. In these tournaments, depth is key because games come at you fast and having to play your best players heavy minutes every game is going to cost you in the final rounds. Looking forward to the Olympics, given the short tournament, other guys should be more willing to participate and the team should welcome them with open arms.

Lack of a quality big has hurt them all tournament. Exposed again there today.

Really proud of the guys effort, a great tournament that deserves to be celebrated. But it’s gonna be tough to get into medal contention without a quality center on the roster in Paris

1st half officiating was really bad
