This is my king — yall hate him but he’s just seething waiting for this year

    Another day, another opportunity💯

  2. Odd-Hovercraft-1286

They put Bobby Portis on the team over him USA is so unserious

  3. Jayveesac

Yeah, but the States needed more size, not another chucker

  4. mMounirM

Schroder, the best PG in the world, inspiring him. love to see it

  5. BrinksTrucc

It’s shame Walker Kessler couldn’t play because of his offense. He could’ve helped the team rebound and defend in this tourney.

If only there was a star PG on the market who was elite at maximizing rim rollers.

  6. OKCDraftPick2028

Trae would have been a better leader than bum ass brunson

  7. fireglz

Hell yeah. These haters are only good as kindling. Burn ’em the fuck down Trae.

  8. Valuable_End_515

We could have used Trae he is an actual star player

  9. orr12345678

    They don’t need him

    They need defensive Centers

  10. samxz404

Walker Kessler could have been used more with trae. Would have made our d better

i swear steve kerr might have picked his team based off r/nba comments. hali over trae? bobby fuckin portis made the team over him? AUSTIN REAVES?

  12. osusris

all people are going to say if he would’ve been useless and they needed defense and rebounding as if the fcking DPOY wasn’t on the team averaging 3 rebounds per FIBA game

Offense isn’t the issue for America but I do think the overall offense probably would’ve been better with Trae over Brunson. Brunson is deliberate in his style and though he was getting to the rim and getting into the paint, drawing fouls and collapsing the defense, he also committed turnovers, because he’s not the fastest processing of playmakers in those situations and can be a bit predictable. Trae is more decisive and obviously the much better overall playmaker.

Defense is the problem for America and Trae wouldn’t have helped with that at all but can’t be worse than what it already was.

People in here are missing the point that Trae makes a guy like Kessler a viable offensive player in the P&R. Kessler plays more, we have a rebounder and defender who doesn’t foul every 5 seconds. Then JJJ can play his natural 4 spot

Gotta love the karma for this team 2 tournaments in a row. Whoever is picking the next World Cup needs to swallow their pride. If Trae even wants to join these bums then.

Good, he’s better than the PGs picked over him

The boxscore for Germany vs USA is honestly the story of the fall and what is wrong with the team composition and failure at this tournament. Brunson-19 (over Trae?), Hart -6 (and he starts over Paolo/Tyrese? and somehow made this tournament), JJjr -6 (PB +6). USA played politics.

How did Wendell not make this team. How come Kerr keeps allowing JJjr to get exposed as the starting Center when Paolo clearly is the better fit. Who made the decision that the worse playmaker, worse shooter, iso heavy, just as bad a defender Brunson is better than Trae as a fit. It makes 0 sense so many moves. Brunson is good but Trae absolutely fits better but USA played politics, wanted 4 NY guys, (1 of which was there just to take photos). I said it from the beginning the team comp was terrible, and its clearly showing favoritism.

The best lineup clearly was Tyrese, Ant, BI/Mikal, JJjr, Paolo with Brunson, Reaves, BI/Mikal, Portis, Kessler. Its the most cohesive and synergistic. The bigs fit each other and will defend and rebound this way. Both Offense and defense work. Starting lineup has clear defined roles, Ant/Paolo usual top options, SF and Tyrese are spacers and pop off players, JJjr is a last offensive weapon that will get high value passes cause everybody else is a weapon. Bench is easier to understand Brunson is Brunson/SF are top options like the NY knicks with isos from these guys, Reaves is a connector, and Portis and Kessler are fillers/ screeners that rebound and defend.

Coaching made political moves, based on wanting to get big media attention, and then failed at making adjustments during tournament for the tougher teams, and failed at making the best possible lineups in favor of personal Kerr favoritism. Trae and Wendell Carter really are 2 players that in an unbiased scenario absolutely make this team.

  18. Trae would’ve made this team better for real. It’s not like they had fucking defenders all over the court anyways at least let him go destroy people on offense like basically that entire roster cannot

Dude might be flawed but that’s actually nba superstar offense

Am I out of line for thinking Trae is better than this world cup team? A lot of stars passed on it, it seems like this was mostly for the really young guys. I know Trae is young but he’s established himself as more of a star. I would entirely expect Trae to make the Olympics squad beside guys like Tatum if he wanted it.

  20. Doncicfuturegoat

Everyone here is saying Trae will be the best PG on the team or shit, no.
Trae will be the best player on the team and there is no reason not to pick him on the roster when he was willing to be selected, but hey Brunson intangibles and all the others guys were supposed to be better suited for FIBA basketball.
