I think it’s way to early to definitively say. Maybe? Cunningham was hurt most of last year and Henderson has yet to play a minute in the NBA.

As for Barnes, I felt underwhelmed by his second season with the team. But I also felt underwhelmed by the Raptor’s performance in general last year. I hope Darko can unlock something in him or at least get him looking more like he did in his rookie year. I think a consistent role for Scottie would go a long way for him.

Scoot is a toss up since he hasn’t played one game in the league, but I don’t see anything wrong with this list. Cade will be carrying Detroit so he just needs to stay healthy.

I still would not be surprised if Wemby ends up being a bust either. Picking 2 guys who haven’t played a regular season NBA game to be top 10 in 5 years is wild.

Cade has potential if he can stay healthy

Probably yes, guy can do everything you need from a dominant point guard. Can’t shoot super well yet but he has range and it will come.

  6. luchaburz

Unsure about Scoot. Cade probably will be

Wemby gonna be a bust in 5 yrs so this list is a joke already

I don’t think it’s crazy – it’s easy to see how Cade could be better, because (to my eyes), his jumper looks really good, even though he’s shooting around the same percentage as Scottie. I’d be surprised if Cade doesn’t become a 40% three point shooter over the next couple seasons.

Scoot is a tougher one to speculate on. He’s obviously an athletic freak, but he’s still got a lot to prove at an NBA level. There’s no way I’d pick him to be better than Booker in five years based on what we know now.

Im higher on scoot than cade, cadr never impressed me

Forgetting the fact that there are future nba players past 2023 draft

  11. iversonAI

I think if they play better they could definitely be better players. Alternatively i could see Scottie playing better and being the better player as well

I mean personally at the moment I’d rather have Cade than Scottie. This sub would go nuts at this take probably but give me the guy who can dribble and has a nicer looking stroke

Jury is out on Scoot but as a prospect he is much more impressive

I hope Scottie proves them wrong but I’m not surprised

ESPN is also going to be biased against the Raptors etc and they make these lists trying to incite reactions

God I hope so. It would be awesome having a young star who becomes a top 10 talent in the NBA.

No way should Tatum be ahead of Giannis

I could totally see those 2 being better than Barnes. I’d honestly rather have Cade than Scottie right now

  16. Midnightmarauder7

Nvm Scottie, how is Haliburton not on this list!?

  17. mxgicjohnson

Cade is a jumpshot away from being a breakout player

Scottie, is some handles away from breaking out. I think he can still be very effective without an excellent 3P jumpshot.

    Scoot hasn’t played yet.

Whoever can defeat their weakness first while be the better player, but I think they are equal now.

When it comes from B/R it does not mater what they say positiove or negative. It’s constructed for clicks not for validity.

  20. fredvancleef

It’s not crazy to say. Their skill sets and position are more applicable to individual success

  21. idkytm7419

Thats up to scottie barnes to start takin shit serious , ball is in his court

  22. whiiskio

Cade is already better and more impactful than Scottie lol, at least offensively. If the Pistons can keep developing I see him becoming the best player from that draft easily. Might never be a defensive ace but could be a dominant 3-level wing scorer you can run a team’s offense through like Luka/Tatum/Booker.

Scoot if Dame is traded will have a pathway to big minutes as a rookie which should help him develop as well. His impact will depend on a lot more on context surrounding him however since the Blazers are so in flux, and he’s sharing the ball with Simons and Sharpe, two young guys who will also demand touches.

Barnes needs to prove a lot this upcoming season, 3rd year is when a lot of All-Stars take that leap and prove they are worthy of that title. He needs to improve all aspects of his game in order to get there, because right now he’s simply a starter-quality player. With FVV no longer the lead ball-handler and Siakam’s future in question with the team, this is his year to take control and assert himself.

Cade is already better. He was just injured.

  24. Swarmoro

I thought Cade Cunningham was a 6’8 point guard. How did he shrink 3 inches? That yr he was a no doubt #1 pick. Now Barnes is a 6’9 point guard. What?

  25. regohcide

These lists are usually dominated by players who can average 25+ a game. And all these players are ahead of Scottie in that.

Victor is already more of a “star” than Scottie sadly.
