[Woj] The San Antonio Spurs are waiving veteran guard Cam Payne, sources tell ESPN. Payne recently arrived in trade from Suns and now gets a chance to join a contending team that can give him a bigger role.

Potential Buck? Pretty solid backup but not sure if he’d want to see if he can get more than a vet min somewhere
if he’d sign with us for the vet minimum it’s a no brainer, we really need another ball handler and backup PG.
our roster is full so we’d probably have to do some type of trade to free a spot
He’s worth more than what we could pay him and we’ve got a nice crew to develop this season. Besides I expect Allen to get moved before the deadline for a similar player.
Perfect backup PG for the Bucks. He could view it as a chance to increase his value and get a better deal next year.
My questions are:
Do the Bucks have an open roster spot? I thought Thanasis took the last one so who would they cut?
“Veteran point guard Cam Payne” sounds weird. I don’t like aging.
Definitely don’t like the idea of forcing a trade just to free open a roster spot, we only have so many decent assets. Also don’t like the idea of waiving AJ, we only have so many decent prospects and he’s earned a larger role. Don’t see it happening, I bet he goes to Philly.
am i crazy for preferring tyty? i know what this guy can do already and i don’t know if he’s moving the needle enough
