What’s the Problem with Tyrese Haliburton?

Tyrese Haliburton has become a somewhat polarizing player. Some people think that Haliburton is quickly becoming one of the best point guards in the NBA, and there are others that think he’s become overrated.

The Indiana Pacers are of course still in the process of rebuilding, but it’s clear that Tyrese Haliburton is the focal point of the team until further notice. He’s shown that he has amazing chemistry and synergy with Buddy Hield and Myles Turner, and his style of play is a nice contrast to that of recent lottery pick Bennedict Mathurin.

Tyrese Haliburton was an All-Star last season, and he had some of the highest assists per game in the NBA. On any given night during the regular season, a Tyrese Haliburton pass would often be one of the biggest highlights.

So what is it about Haliburton that gets people hung up? There are more flaws to his game than you may think, but at the same time, he might be significantly better than you realize. His Team USA appearances showcased the good, and the bad.

  1. Dope video. The kids got a lot of space to improve, I felt bad when he was dealt to Indiana. Now he gets a chance to develop at a good pace. He wouldn't have that opportunity in Sacramento

  2. If he gets a little stronger and adds a post up game he could be a number one option but who knows

  3. I like Haliburton, but I hate his fans on Twitter, and they think he’s Magic Johnson

  4. This next season is his time to really show out especially after he signed a deal with Indy he’s locked in now

  5. The man was very nearly 50/40/90 on 20/10 with good effort on D. Of all the young guards in the league, I'm probably highest on him. Mvp level upside for sure

  6. Nobody thinks he’s hit his ceiling, they just think he’s overrated which I think he has. I constantly have to point out why he’s overrated even tho I personally think he can get better those are two diff things

  7. Is it really needed for him to average 30 a night to be a superstar? I mean, CP3, John Wall, Nash… great superstars PG who never were scoring machine guns but they were very good scorers but with "pass first" mentality. I can see Haliburton as this type of player. And he is big enough to develop into a very good defensive player too.

  8. Haliburton is so overrated but who tf is saying that he already hit his ceiling? That’s just hating lmao. Would love to see his defense improve since he’s a bad defender.

  9. What’s his problem? He’s on a HORRIBLE team lol! Come join your buddy, Austin Reaves, on the Lakers bruh!!! πŸ’œπŸ’›
