I don’t hate this trade idea- satisfies Dame, the Blazers, the Heat, and the intermediary teams get a little better.

  2. No. We get the same kind of crap but in this trade we have to give up Simons too?

I don’t really understand the hate for this. What more do we want? More picks? That’s 4 firsts and at least two young players with potential. Suggs could be a really nice addition

I don’t care about the rest of the trade. I’m not rooting for a team with Jon Isaac on it

Just on first glance (even including all those picks for Portland) you have to consider talent coming in vs talent going out and this is so lopsided that can’t even feel good about the picks they’d get. Unless your stated goal is to because the clear cut worst team in the NBA then you hang up the second someone mentions sending and Dame AND Simons

Lololol. Why would we get rid of Dame AND Ant unless it was for a star?

I don’t think this sub understands what a “rebuild” actually entails. Do we want another decade of small guards and “despite the loss” stat lines? Simons is nice, but what about Sharpe? We can’t have our cake and eat it too.

They just casually tossed in our second best asset. Abomination.

WTF are they going to do with Lowry? jfc.

Oh, you don’t like our trade as is? How about you add Simons. Do you like it better now? This is unserious.

This is worse than what Miami are already offering

  12. SmokingPuffin

I don’t get it. This is obviously worse than the direct Miami deal.

If we trade for Jonathan Isaac I will delete Jodie’s whole fucking minecraft server I swear to god. What an awful deal for us. The Miami heat straight up can offer as good of a package and we don’t end up with a lunatic headcase.

Like genuinely imagine Black MAGA in Portland. No thank you.

I don’t think it’s horrible because despite his crazy, I think Isaac is really good. He’d be a bad fit in Portland in particular though (city, not team). But it’s that a Simons for Isaac deal? What’s left isn’t any different for Dame really.

I know everyone is saying the Miami picks are going to be garbage but I highly doubt we would even draft those pics. Since they are far into the future, they will likely be trade ships right when the team is ascending. Of course that has a lot of presumption in it.

If the blazers were to get another pick in this this might be the best they can do. People here are funny saying it’s a bad trade but the blazers getting a haul like Utah did is less then likely because of Dame’s age and contract. Plus teams saw the Gobert trade was an anomaly. Minnesota front office is ran by low basketball iq individuals. Blazers not gonna get what they want and continue to play hard ball and end up fuckin themselves over. Cronin isn’t a gm. He’s like the manager hired to figure out how a company or department can save money. Those people are great at figure out ways to do that but aren’t good at managing people or situations.
