Part of the illfated 2001 draft where the Celtics had three first round picks and selected:
10. Joe Johnson: Obviously became a great player but traded that season for Rodney Rodgers and Tony Delk for a playoff push that resulted in an Eastern Conference Finals appearance.
11. Kedrick Brown: Super athletic and raw, they drafted him out of a community college (?!). His basketball abilities and IQ never caught up with his physical tools and the Celtics traded him to the Cavs.
21. Joe Forte: Apparently the Celtics brass wanted to take Tony Parker and even verbally committed to him, but Red Auerbach really liked Forte (there was some Washington DC connection, maybe Red’s buddy was Forte’s high school coach?). Despite better judgement, they threw Red a bone and picked Forte who washed out of the league in a couple of seasons.
Players they passed up in this draft:
13. Richard Jefferson 19. Zach Randolph 25. Gerald Wallace 28. Tony Parker 31. Gilbert Arenas 34. BRIAN SCALABRINE 38. Mehmet Okur

Kedrick Brown
The Celtics had the choice to send either one of their rookies Kedrick Brown or Joe Johnson in the trade for Tony Delk & Rodney Rodgers for the 2002 ECF run
Chris Wallace chose to send Joe Johnson

For 8 bucks I hope you picked it up

This guy was just a horrible draft pick. I remember that draft very vividly, unfortunately. Three draft picks entirely wasted. (One of them was used on Joe Johnson, but he was dealt at the deadline in his rookie year because the team was desperate to prove something in the near-term.) Just awful times.

I’ve only been following the Celtics since spring of 2022, so I’m not too familiar with many of the former players.
Think it’s Kendrick brown but don’t quote me
Its Kendrick Brown from the look of it to me
Kedrick Brown. Tommy loved his dunks
that’s gotta be Kedrick Brown
It’s [Kedrick Brown](https://www.tcdb.com/Images/Cards/Basketball/2955/2955-729313Fr.jpg) (not Kendrick).
