Some fans hate on Ben, but he came here and did his job. He held down Shaq in our first playoffs series win since Jordan retired. Hate on GarPax for giving him that contract, but we should have nothing but love for Big Ben.

I can’t believe he’s in these hall of fame. His scoring numbers are so bad. Hall of very good @ best

  3. Wallace was even better with Detroit, in part because he younger and even more athletic, but in large part because the zone was legalized and the Pistons took full advantage of the options on defense. There’s an argument he should have won not just Defensive Player of the Year but also MVP and Finals MVP, except that voters didn’t give those awards to non-scorers.

The league was not happy about offense being down around the league in the early 2000s, nor about the Pistons winning without any true offensive stars. So the NBA changed several rules in the summer of 2004 to make it harder to play defense and easier to score.

Wallace was still one of the best defenders in the league, if not the best. But his value wasn’t as great on the Bulls as it had been on the Pistons. And because his contract was so big and his role with the Pistons had been so impressive, many Bulls fans were naturally disappointed.
