Empty out all assets meaning?

If Joe Cronin really expects Jimmy and Bam he’s insane…

If all assets just means our best available trade package (that we are willing to offer) I’d say go for it

I’m really hoping it’s the latter ^

it means everything of value besides jimmy and bam. The Heat are playing the waiting game cuz they’re assuming there are no other serious Dame-pursuers, and they know that Portland HAS to trade Dame if they want to seriously progress into their rebuild.

it all comes down to who folds first between Pat Riley and Cronin. And right now it looks like neither are planning on folding.

“We want what we could’ve got for him if we would’ve traded him back when we should’ve”

  3. Big-Efficiency2489

If I were yall, everyone but Jimmy and Bam are on the table

  4. Emmbryyy

Means the picks, young players, probably Caleb and Tyler.

  5. They’re withholding one of JJJ or Jovic for sure.

  6. MediocreDVaMain

“Imma leak that the Heat are only bidding against themselves, that will up their offer for sure”

Smart move there Cronin, amateur hour.

Silver lining is they’re actually talking and the bald headed asshat isn’t ghosting like he did all summer.

Not sure what this even means. From all accounts pretty much anyone besides Bam and Jimmy are available.

If this means all picks/Herro/Caleb/Highsmith/JJJ/Jovic are all getting moved for Dame they are not serious.

You can empty deez nuts Portland

I am MORE than ok with this trade not happening at this point and I hope they get scraps on the dollar no matter who they trade him to.

  12. Particular_Visit723

Gotta keep caleb & Jaquez anyone else can go but those 2 guys are essential !!

  13. julstar23

I figured they wanted to clean miami out like what happened to the sun’s. When you are in a petty war between another player and their franchise it gets ugly quickly. They want to clean miami out so that the trade is basically a wash and they can’t be in title contention.

This guy realizes that we can afford to run it back right? Portland is not really in a position to make over the top demands.

  15. jperez09r

KMA with this nonsense! I’d rather us run it with this unit who’s core made it to the finals, than to have 3 stars and no bench. we’ll also be handcuffed salary wise.

    This must be a joke…

  16. Dramatic-County-1284

A team that just went to the finals doesn’t need to empty shit

  17. PlayBey0nd87

Look, I would like to see Dame with the Heat across the chest. You can’t gut your entire team for 1 player. You need capable players to sub in who are not going to blow whatever lead or momentum that’s been built up to that point.

Even the Warriors knew Steph, Klay, & Draymond can’t beat properly built teams that are put together for playoff basketball.

  18. Sikopathx

They’re demanding Flanigan’s, Pollo Tropical, and that Pitbull refer to himself as “Mr. Oregon-wide”

    Pat ain’t folding!

  19. radilrouge

How other fan bases have been slandering Tyler I want to keep and have him snarl his way to a chip pissing everyone off.

  20. So bssically Miami should force itself in a shit situation for Dame. I mean, getting Dame means increasing our chances of getting through with a ring TREMENDOUSLY. BUT ONLY if we don’t also sacrifice our depth. If that’s what they want, then Miami just doesn’t go for it. We can compete right now with what we have. If we have to trade our future, all our picks and our depth, then there’s no point.

The point is to improve our team, not cripple it. If we land Dame with the rumored assets planned, we will already have to start cherrypicking a supporting cast because of cap reasons.

If Cronin doesnMt want to do right by Dame, fine by me. Leave him at home, pay the fine for not playing your star player as a franchise and shut up.

  21. Well apparently Heat have very little assets so this shouldn’t be a problem /s

If that Blazers podcast that was posted here recently is accurate, then I wonder if Cronin is being whiny and petty toward Dame bc Dame called his bluff and bullshit.

  23. VestmentsByGarak

The Blazers are delusional, man. No other GM in the league is going to want to pay the price for a dude on the wrong side of his prime who has a HUMONGUS contract over the next few years, even the ones whose teams are in “win now” mode like the HEAT, knowing that Dame will arrive disgruntled. So the Blazers can either trade him to us for a *fair deal*, or do nothing, deal with him being disgruntled in Portland (and pay his huge contract) for the next couple years, and then lose him for nothing. Their feeble attempts to project strength are laughable.

  24. Traditional-Ad-7786

I’m not against OP posting this image with the text but… Windhorst actually says a bit more than that.

    > “They want the Heat to literally scrounge into every nook and cranny and produce everything they possibly can. The Heat don’t feel a need to do that,”

So neither side changed their position. Cronin stated what their demands are and Pat Riley said that they are not going to concede to those.

We are going into the season without a deal done.

Once the season starts, we’ll also probably see Jovic getting minutes and possibly also Jaquez. And also for Herro to a lesser extent.

I see a lot of people reluctant to trade Jovic and Jaquez, but once we see them play, we’ll have a better image of that. Fans usually overrate their young players. Sure, they have talent, but the NBA is full of talented players both the veterans and also among the guys who are just entering the league.
