Dame talks about why he decided to request a trade
Essentially just stuff we already know. Dame wanted to win here but felt the organization wasn’t trying to win anymore. Figured it was worth the post because its coming from Dame tho.
Why the fuck is Lillard is getting interviewed by Trell?

People will read into this but it’s just natural. He didn’t feel like the organization was doing everything it could to win this VERY moment (which is true). So he wanted to go a different direction. That’s completely fair.
It doesn’t seem like it’s crazy hard feelings or intense. It’s just going different directions.

That’s fair tbh

So he signs a quarter billion contract… ya ok

This is much better communication from Dame than we have been getting since his trade request. If he had explained himself like this from the start his reputation would be a lot better and people would have more sympathy for him. Too bad it took this long and was preceded by a series of head scratching PR errors. I’ll never look at him the same way.

See this the disconnect. Dame doesn’t feel like the organization is trying to win, but Cronin disagrees. He used our picks because he couldn’t get a player that he felt was better than Sharpe and Scoot. Trading those picks for role players is not a winning move. It may signal to the outside that you are going all in, but it’s a really stupid all-in.
Dame apparently got to the point where he said ‘actions speak louder than words’ and just didn’t agree with Joe. In my view, Dame is wrong here. I’m not saying he’s ‘in the wrong’, I’m saying I believe he thinks we should’ve done something different and that different thing would’ve been short sighted and stupid. (Of course I can’t actually know that because who knows what was even available for certain or how it would’ve worked out, but from what we have heard, that’s my strong feeling).
This is also why Joe has remained hopeful. Because he’s still willing to deal Ant for someone who will move the needle. And probably Sharpe and Scoot for someone truly worth it.
And hearing Dame in this clip, I could see why Joe would believe Dame would reconsider if he was able to pull off a trade like that.
I truly think Joe will still make calls to try and build around Dame, and I do not believe Joe sees the team as a tanking team at all. I think he will try and compete right away as best he can (though that likely won’t be enough regardless).
