The Best Under-The-Radar Moves Of The Offseason | JJ Redick

Welcome to another episode of The Old Man and The Three Things with JJ Redick and Tommy Alter. While we wait for movement on Damian Lillard and James Harden, we thought we’d talk through our favorite “under-the-rader” acquisitions. First, Tommy talks about why he loves Georges Niang on The Cleveland Cavaliers. Then JJ dives into why he he likes Seth Curry on The Dallas Mavericks. Both Tommy and JJ spend some time talking about Taurean Prince on The Los Angeles Lakers. For their last picks, Tommy talks Eric Gordon on The Phoenix Suns and JJ talks about why Obi Toppin on The Indiana Pacers can be a fresh start for him.

  1. The lakers have a few underrated pick ups and the Cavs nabbed some really good shooters to that group

  2. Don't forget about Dario Saric to the Warriors. He's a big-man-type they were missing last year, after winning it all two seasons ago. His contributions will make a big difference this coming season.

  3. That Eric Gordon pickup is nice if the suns bench can compete or outplay then they will be very tough to beat

  4. Seth Curry definitely an under the radar moves don’t sleep on the Mavs. Top 6 in the West!

  5. I knew right away when nuggets got k c p that they were due for a championship, he is the perfect role player, exactly what kuz was talking about With t u s a comma can you play defense and then go stand in the corner and wait for an open shot? That's k c p in a nutshell… elite at everything you need a role player to be.

  6. I'll miss Obi, but he just couldn't out play Randle. (Not a randle fan, but it's the truth.) I also think IQ is better and he's the one we gotta keep. Obi doesn't rebound well or play defense.

  7. Do you know the things I would trade for Christian Laettner’s career?

  8. Kings euro league pick up I think if he gets minutes kings going have a lot of band wagon fans

  9. Eric Gordon will be targeted by every team. He shot decently from 3 for my clippers, but he had quite a few flaws. Defense was nonexistent

  10. Malik Beasley may be the answer to the Bucks’ stagnant halfcourt offense. He may just be a catch and shoot guy tho… but anyways, he could be huge for the Bucks

  11. Sasha Vezenkov is EASILY the best signing. Dude will be contending for year 1 allstar. Perfect signing since he won Euroleague MVP on a total of 26 Dribbles for the season. Plays entirely offball as a shooter/cutter. Plus he defends well. He's gonna fit in PERFECT with Fox and Sabonis.

  12. Hopefully George will be like Klove for Cleveland. Coming of the bench and moving Mobley to the 5 to get him going offensively in the paint

  13. Donte on NY is my pick. If he can stay healthy he can be a nice boost to our 2nd unit which needed a guy w his skill set at times. He’s also another piece of that Nova champs squad so if anything our team chemistry gets a boost.

  14. The heat picking up Thomas Bryant to help out bam will be great as well.Ive always wanted to see what Bam can do at Pf

  15. I didn’t know Tommy was cantonese that’s dope as a white looking asian american.

  16. Talking about fit is the reason I hate the goat debate for a single player in a team sport. (It's LeBron)
Imagine if dame was with golden state with Klay kd and dray his entire career. The narrative is soooo much different. Coaching, organization, system and culture all matter. Cavs wouldn't have put a winning team around Jordan if he was drafted in 03 either..

  17. Spurs got Reggie Bullock and unprotected 2030 pick swap from the Mavs. For the price of….a 2nd round pick?

That 2030 could be massive, especially if Luka somehow leaves.

  18. Dennis schroder to the raptors was big to me. Coming off the fiba chip his confidence bout to be thru the roof. N now he got the keys to a offense.

  19. As a Knick fan, 1000% agree on Toppin. I think he will shine in Indy with the right system, consistent minutes and Halliburton will get him the ball in the right spots. I wish we would’ve/could’ve given him more of a chance to succeed. To be fair, no one new Julius was gonna turn into THIS lol.
