[Baraheni] Hate to be a party-pooper but I think Toronto’s name + “mystery eastern conference team” being thrown out there for Dame is just a way to get Miami cough up more assets from Portland. Seems more like a leverage play, imo

Why would the Raptors be leverage their assets aren’t that good unless it’s Scottie

  2. kyle_993

I disagree. If it was Woj saying this I would think we are leverage as he’s more an FO guy but Shams mentioned us, and he’s a Dame mouth piece, and Marc Spears talked about the mystery team and he’s also a Dame guy.

why is it a big deal that raptors called and asked about Dame? Shouldn’t every GM be doing this? What am I missing from this rumour

Who says we don’t get Dame and OG and Pascal go to Miami in some crazy 3 way deal

I mean…do any of us actually feel we are getting Dame? Lol. This is the Raptors we are talking about. Plus he doesn’t seem to desire playing here so just seems like a ridiculous suggestion that we would end up with Dame. Despite how much I’d love him being in a Raptors uniform of course..

Even if that is the case that is good for us I want Miami to have to cough up all the goods.

  7. everything so far just seems like speculation, this tweet included

Shams was clearly trying to dissuade Torotno

There is a 95% chance we start the season with the same team we have right now. I don’t see us trading for neither Dame, nor Herro.

Dame isn’t Kawhi, and we would be nowhere close to the 2019 team with that trade. He is also old and on a gigantic contract.

I buy into the Herro interest more, but it will only happen if he is dirt cheap, which is unlikely given that he is the best asset Miami has.

Yup. That’s what I’ve been thinking. This doesn’t seem like a Masai move. It seems like a “remember, they traded for Kawhi” thing without any other context in that trade.
