Lowe had Andrew Lopez on to talk Spurs. They announced Lopez was officially taken off the Zion beat by ESPN and is moving to San Antonio to cover the Spurs full time. So that’s cool I guess.
Couple things of note:
– Lowe is sky high on Dev and Sochan as long term Wemby fits
– Had a stat about Dev’s improvement. Dev was the ball handler in only 7 pick and rolls per 100 possessions in 21-22. Last year that more than tripled to 22 a game and his efficiency is good on them despite how bad we were around him
– Doesn’t expect Wemby to be very efficient on offense year 1, but does think he’s gonna walk in day 1 as a great defender
– League exec predicted Dev would lead the team in scoring this year and both Lowe and Lopez thought it was possible
– Spurs are very high on Branham, possibly as someone that can run the offense
Lowe’s as good as it gets covering the league and everyone should check it out. They get to the Spurs in the last 20 mins of the pod.
