[Adan] The critique on Masai has always been that he never makes a trade because he’s too high on his guys. If that’s true, then bet on your guys and build a winning team around them.

>What’s the point in never trading OG or Pascal because you think they’re good if you refuse to commit to actually building a team around them?

>Idk guys can’t both be too good to trade but not good enough to force your hand in picking a direction.

She’s got a point. If we’re willing to hold on to our core players until we run the risk of losing them in free agency rather than trade them, then find a trade that makes us a PROPER contender. Not this weird, mish-mashed roster that’s not good enough to make a run and not truly awful enough to get a good pick (which we don’t even have, potentially for the next few years lol).
Is there anybody here that believes Pascal and OG can be top 2 on a championship team? I don’t and clearly neither do Masai and Bobby.
We need a real number 1 option. Now evidently Masai and Bobby want to trade for one.
I don’t see it happening because we don’t have enough assets to trade for a number 1 option and be a championship contender, but I would love to be proven wrong.
No, Masai mantra is never deal from desperate/low value state.
So lets just ignore the fact that Masai has tried to trade Siakam all off-season
“The critique on Masai has always been that he never makes a trade because he’s too high on his guys. If that’s true, then bet on your guys and build a winning team around them.”
People still don’t get the fact that the 2018 team had depth at multiple positions to begin with (as well as more available assets) to compensate a all-in type trade for a superstar caliber (Leonard) player, that still left the team with assets to add to an already championship contending roster ie the Gasol trade, also forgot to mention that on-top of Leonard you also brought in a very high quality role player in Danny Green.
A simple way to help balance out (I’m not saying chip contender by any means) this roster without breaking the bank is using the players who will just ride the bench (ie Thad, Flynn and a somewhat lesser extent OPJ) attach a 2nd or two and go out and get another NBA caliber guard in the rotation.
This Wizards right now (literally could be called guards are us) have a surplus of guards right now and are in a rebuilding state.
If you could center a Dame trade around OG and Precious being the main two pieces going back along with filler and picks then I do think you have to at least seriously think about it, but barring that unless they are able to swoop in and be the 3rd team in a Dame to the Heat trade were they can get Herro for cheapish I wouldn’t bother, but nonetheless will see what happens leading into training camp.
I don’t understand this tweet. Is this person suggesting masai has no intention of building a winning team?
Is that the ageed upon critique of masai?
What is this person cooking?
Toronto can’t attract big FA. So the only way we can land top tier talent is by overwhelmingly winning trades.
didn’t he call them out for being selfish/playing for accolades he aslo tried trading them. it might be a case of him not wanting to lose a trade and having too much patience.
“Do you expect more for an expiring”
No, I expect the team to extend him.
Uh, am I crazy or has Masai not made a ton of trades? Like even comparing to other orgs. Not his fault everyone wants our players.
