[Keith Smith] If/when the Pacers trade Buddy Hield, it makes it more likely Indiana signs Aaron Nesmith to an extension. They were really happy with what Nesmith brought to the team last year, and a deal for him won’t break the bank to keep up good wing depth.

Keith is a key contributor to Spotrac. He normally deals with the Celtics but this tweet makes me wonder what he has heard through the rumor grape vine.
It would hurt to lose Buddy, but I would gladly take a Nesmith extension. He was one of our few defensive players and he improved throughout the season as he got more minutes.

The positive of trading Buddy is developing Nesmith. He deserves to play his natural position, not power forward

I know he just had a great season for the pacers, and is one of the best shooters in the league, but he is older, bad at defense, low iq , sub par athlete and the pacers aren’t contending now, if they can get any 1 rd pick and matching salaries it would be great, opens up more playing time for guys that might contribute in the future when it matters
