[Slater] An extra wing has become the camp priority for Warriors. This is their frontcourt: Draymond Green, Kevon Looney, Dario Saric, Trayce Jackson-Davis and Usman Garuba on a two-way. TJD has impressed since arriving and organization views Garuba as young depth piece with upside.

We have good frontcourt depth so this isn’t a shock. Dwight Howard is a big name but there’s a reason he’s been playing in Taiwan

It’s always good to hear young guys impressing enough for the org to have faith in them.

That being said, “extra wing” = JTA or GRIII come on down

These guys are all fine, or could be fine, but they still don’t match up with the elite 7-footers.

An extra wing made the most sense, we only have two forwards on the roster with Wiggins and Kuminga

Maybe they are waiting to see if Otto will shake loose after Lillard gets traded to whoever on the chance Toronto gets involved and is holding onto his salary right now for matching purposes.

Wonder if “has impressed” is referring to summer league or if it’s his performance in the mini camps they’ve had since then

Aside from Wiggins and sliding Klay to the 3, the wing depth is kinda thin.

I don’t think Kuminga has the shooting to be a 3, so that just leaves Moody.

A wing as a 14th man is needed.

Hopefully it’s because Garuba is looking like the second coming of Wilt in random scrimmages so the team is hesitant on filling a 15-man spot that they want to give to him eventually.

Are Wiggins, Klay, Moody, Kuminga and GP2 not enough? I know GP2 is short but I swear he on the wings

MDJ already said during his early presser as a GM that the team’s priorities for the last 3 spots (excluding the 15th) are a guard (CoJo), a stretch big (Saric) and a wing (?). Unless Lacob wanted to go full 15, Dwight was a tough one to sign

lmao so much copium when we heard “the vets signed off” and now so much copium now that he’s not coming

Love this: “TJD has impressed since arriving and organization views Garuba as young depth piece with upside.”

I’m really tempering expectations on TJD, but I’m very glad to hear Slater call out that the team has confidence in him. I feel like it might a hand-in-glove fit.

I think someone who’s about to be on the waiver wire will fit that 14th spot.

I feel ike Garuba can become another Kevon Looney. Someone who does all the dirty work and plays his role amazingly

It’s honestly pretty odd they didn’t sign Dwight given the language we’ve been hearing around him. Perhaps the coaching staff+Kerr would prefer that extra wing instead of Dwight.
